Default CNC'd LS7 heads, Lingenfelter or WCCH

I have been debating on a set of cnc'd heads but not sure what route to go. Straightline performance did ZO6 with WCCH heads and only picked up twelve hp. Lingenfelter heads have higher flow numbers, which I understand doesnt mean everything, but looking at rwhp gains. I have found much information on this debate and was looking for insight on the matter.

I just got my heads back yesterday from Randy at WCCH... Had them milled .045" with their competition valve job, porting/polishing, bronze valve guides, stainless exhaust valves, and patriot dual valve springs... bolting them up tonight on my black widow cam car, ill let you know how they flow

Another one to look at is AI. They have had some great results on LS7 heads. Vengance racing did a AI LS7 heads on a cammed z06 and got 20hp, no milling.

Milling is where most of the gain comes from. The porting is trivial in comparison.

That said, I'd go with WCCH. Richard is great to work with and actually takes interest in what you're doing. My factory LS7 heads were done by him, and he did my LSX-LS7 heads as well.

Very interested in results. What was your hp/tq before?

Can you get your shop to do a overlay of the dyno graphs aswell? Before and after on the same sheet?

Default My Vote is for...

LPE

My 630 package ( LPE complete heads & GT19 cam. ) is putting down 572/538 peak with tons UNDER the curve!

They flowed over 400 cfm on intake on our local flow bench.

Quality was first rate and so was the turn around time. They even adapted my Titanium exhaust valves in the build.

With that said, I had a great experience dealign with Ricard at WCCH on an earlier build. Only problem was, his early LS7 heads flowed little more than stock ....tested on the same flow bench/same tech. From what I have heard, his CNC program has changed since.

I put down 498 rwhp before with AR headers with no cats, ported intake manifold and throttle body, halltech, etc...

Doing all the work myself, so while I had it apart for the cam, I popped the heads off and had them done. I was told by Richard at WCCH that I'm lucky I took them off, he said within another 1,000 miles or so I would have dropped an intake valve... Only 8k miles on my car, so it appeared to be a factory casting issue... So weird because I was worried about the EXHAUST valves!!!

ECS will be dyno tuning my car for me on the 23rd, so we'll see how I do.

dang I thought you already had the widow cam installed and were doing the heads now.

Reason why Im curious is I have the widow cam, made 545/500. I want to see a comp dyno graph tho b/c gains are made all across the rpm band

I sent a set of heads off to WCCH and was told about the same thing. Had 18k and was told it only had about 100 miles left before damage. Picked up about 30 whp with only head work.
