As you can see in the below cut away image, the engine rides on the durable urethane. This is how we control engine movement while not passing every vibration in to the passenger compartment.



The inside of the mount is interlocked. Even if you found a way to damage the mount, the stainless interlocking design will keep it all together. The design is built with stainless steel, so they will not rust. They accept your factory nuts. This means there will be no emergency hardware store trips.

You say "fast installation" in the description. Do these install different than the PFADT mounts? Because those seem like a PITA to install. Do these help cure the problem with the dreaded "wheel hop"?

The PFADT mounts took me about 3 hours to install on a lift... Second time around I can probably do it in 2 hrs... Need to unbolt some of the suspension, put a trans jack under the motor, and drop the front sub frame and they slip out after unbolting them.

I am sure these new mounts are awesome, as I love the way the PFADT Urethane engine mounts made my car feel

We can't comment on the Pfadt mounts but these install just like GM mounts. We haven't tried a set on a car that has wheel hop.

Assume you have a lift for time estimate. Looks really good in pictures.

How long would these take to install with a lift? Do I have to disconnect anything from the engine, oil, coolant, etc..?

Any plans for tranny mounts in urethane??

How soft is the urethane? It's both the hardness (durometer rating) and the limited amount of material that makes the Pfadt's transfer so much vibration. Unless these use softer urethane and/or more of it, they may not be much different on NVH transmission.

The pdaft mounts from what I've read are solid mounts, not aware of them selling urethane ones.

The Pfadt's have polyurethane bushings between each half of the mount. They add a fair amount of NVH at idle & low speeds. They offer 2 durometer rating bushings, one hard as a rock for pure race cars, and one slightly softer for street/track cars. Both transmit a good bit of NVH. If the Hinson ones are better damped, I might try switching to those. Otherwise I was going to get softer rubber bushing inserts & try those in my Pfadt mounts to see if it helps.

I hope these are more of a compromise than the Pfadt mounts because it would seem the market would be much more willing to accept engine mounts positioned accordingly. I know for sure that I would be all over these if they offer better control while keeping too much vibration out of the car.

This was the reason we built them!

This compound has been proven on multiple applications. These are soft enough for acceptable NVH levels while giving you the needed engine control.

Our transmission mount is scheduled for later this quarter.

Would there be a problem installing these without swapping the trans mount?

It is fine to install urethane engine mounts without changing the transmission mount. However, we will be starting a urethane transmission mount to match shortly.
