New personal best ET Stock on DR... 10s still elude me.
I went out to PBIR last night with hopes of improving my personal best time with my 100% stock '06 Z06 on Drag radials. The weather was good by our standards here in S. FL... 50's with 50% humidity. The DA was between -250 and -500 the entire night. This event was a Test and Tune open to the public. So there would be no park near the line and go when ready. Still, I feel good about my 4 passes.... well 3 of them anyway as you will read.
I will cut to the chase.. I ran a best of 11.07 at 127.53 w/a 1.735 60ft. The part that is disappointing however, on my 3rd pass I went a 1.67 60ft and was .082 quicker in the 330 than my 11.07 pass..... and missed third gear. I never miss a gear... but I have to admit I saw the 1.67 on the board and knew it might be the 10 sec pass... I thought "Just hit the gears"..... I guess that was a bad thought.
But I have to say I have worked out my launch (25 passes on the DRs now) and feel that on another good night 10s will be mine.

Your right there Frank GREAT DRIVING and STRONG Z!!
You probably would of had it last night but for the missed shift.
Best of luck, you will nail it down you are a man on a mission and pretty much have the launch perfected on the new drag radials.

With a 1.67 60', I think you've got the launch down. !0's the next outing.

10's eluded me too. I have had as low as a 1.66 60ft. So far my best was 11.03. I've been as fast as 129. I'll never know if I could have hit the 10.99 mark as my motor died (RIP), and my new combo is far from stock.

Outstanding times Frank...
The next outing will do it given the right conditions. Just stay sharp, relax and don't over think it and it will come naturally.
Good luck and give a heads up as to the next trip to PBIR...

Well done, Frank.
Couple comments on 10s.
If the 330'-1320' incremental is 6.30, then the 330' must be under 4.70. Getting that to happen take both a good 60' and a very strong 1-2 shift that will yield a 60'-330' incremental at or below 3.00. So, as soon as the car is launched, driver focus is on making a very fast 1-2 shift. And finally, be sure to check and adjust the rear psi in the lanes before every pass, because they will creep up and make spin on the 1-2 more likely.
I'm planning for a couple rentals at Orlando Speed World over the winter. Shoot me an email if you're interested and have some schedule flexibility.

Thanks. I am not going to be able to get out there for several weeks due to the holidays and family stuff.... but I will be back...
Thanks Jim! I think it would have been very close... maybe a 11.00 or10.99 IF.... But it wasnt meant to be.. YET! On my way home I was thinking, like most things in life the chase sometimes is better that the outcome.
Go Bears!!!
It took me a while to get the feel... I just have to duplicate it!!
Wow... a 1.66 and 129 mph trap sounds like it should have come together.... Sorry to hear about the motor!
Hey Dennis. It was about the same as Fri... maybe a few less cars. But not to bad. I was a little bit down after the 1.67 and a missed shift... but hey, it wasnt the right time. Hope to see you out there again soon!!
Go Bears!!
