Default 10.58@133.65mph Bolt on C6Z06 w/Monster Stage 3 clutch!

Well I took the car to Cecil county dragway today to see if I could get the car to hook a little better and get a new best. First pass the with the tires at 20psi the car bogged at a 3700rpm launch. I did a 1/8mi pass and shut it down. I came back up and did a 4000rpm launch and the car spun bad. I let the car cool down and tried adjusting the exhaust due to it was rattling on the driverside pretty bad. Came back up after some cool down and lowered the tire pressure to 18psi and with a 4000rpm launch the car spun again. I went back let the car cool down, dropped the tire pressure to 16psi hot. Launched the car at 3800rpm and the car pulled out with a little spin, the front end stayed up so I kept into it for a full pass. Heres the pass I was given....

60ft-1.631
330ft-4.512
1/8mi-6.876
1/8mph-105.41mph
1000ft-8.893
1/4mi-10.589
1/4mph-133.65mph

The best 1/8mph was 106.10mph so that was interesting. I cut a 1.57 60ft but I missed 2nd That would've been a low 10.5x or better pass. Then a mustang hit the wall (driver was ok)and then I called it a night. Theres definitely A LOT more in there and can't wait to get to test it out on a well prepped track and run it out more often. This clinches the #2 spot so I may give it a rest for a little bit then go to the track in December to put the #2 spot even further away for my Canadian sausage party Sebastl9x He promises that 2011 is going to be a fun year.... well until he finds out about my next few bolt on mods!

Pics for Proof

I'll post video later but regrettfully part way through the launch the video camera came loose and was just swinging so it pretty much makes you see sick.

I want to thank the following people/companies.
Monster Clutches for the clutch to help make it all happen.
RKT56.com for helping with the driveline, clutch setup etc.
Gary2004Z06 for being a good friend and helping make the driver and car work together.
Jeremy Formatto for the tune to give the power to make the ET/MPH's happen
My understanding and supportive wife

Great runs Bruce. You are correct saying "That there is a lot more in there." It just needs to be coaxed out. Congrats again in obtaining at least one of your goals.

Really cool that you guys are trying to maximize the stock power plant without doing internal mods. We had a great bunch in the B-body days with the ImpalaSS's/9C1's going from low 15's stock to low 12's with weight reduction and full bolts ons. We DID consider RR's, valve springs and lighter pushrods as bolt ons though. Most LT1's with any decent mileage was in valve float and no one was going to keep the crappy stamped 1.45's in there anyway with the covers off so we included it as well.

Anyway. Great pass. Cecil is a fast track as well. I always MPH best at Atco but the VHT at Cecil was like no other on the start. Your damn boots would come off walking through that tar pit

10.4's by spring I bet! Awesome car you got there.

Your welcome, I think the way I bring my car out is easy for me 13 to 16 lbs in the rear tires,40 lbs in the front, clutch all the way to the floor , build rpms up to where you want hold it there off clutch fast and on the gas fast . Dumping the clutch like this is best for me instead off slipping.

Last time I did that I got all kinds of wheel hop and my car felt like it was gonna shake the rear out from under neath of it. I do better with demonstration.... how about you hold a track training course? I'm FN with you Thanks for the insight on what has worked well for you. The stock clutches are more forgiving in driver error on clutch release sometimes where a clutch that GRABs will not be. You find yourself midigating tire spin, wheel hop and bog. But when you get it all to come together she should be in for once nice run.

Speaking of wheel hop..... wheres my trusty side kick Bull Winkle/Sebast19x???? I want him to help me out with my "SHOCK DAMPENING". I didnt know the stock shocks had adjustable shocks and he said he "ADJUSTED TIRE PRESSURE AND SHOCK DAMPENING" to eliminate his wheel hop issue when he hit 10.63's in the #3 on the bolt on list accomplishment.
