Default Did wicked at Mustang grudge day (long)

This past sat. was the mustang grudge day event at St. Thomas dragway near London, Ontario. My WW V2.0 did great.

Last year's event with my 08 Cooksey car netted me 2 victories (should be 3 but 1 person was a no show). Best et with that car was 11.35@126.13 but as the day went on I lost a tenth or two in et's. My 09 car was setup just like the 08 car: K&N intake, vette air, 160 t/stat, new Hoosier DR's 315-30-18 and I added the RSD line loc that the 08 car didn't have.

This year with my 09 car I started weak during T&T, running 11.7's and 11.9's. I wasn't happy. I did one more T&T run and lined up against 12BVETTEOWNER's 2010 GT500. He did a few things with that car (making 650+RWHP) and he ran 11.24@133.56 vs. my 11.42@123.94. I knew I didn't have much for his modded GT500 but at least I got better at driving this car at the track with him beside me.

Now on to round 1: me vs. 12B in the 500

60ft: 1.80 me, 1.83 12B
330 ft: 4.98 me, 4.90 12B
1/8 et: 7.49 me, 7.30 12B
1/8 mph: 98.85 me, 105.64 12B
1/4 et: 11.37 me, 11.05 12B
1/4 mph: 125.39 me, 132.71 12B

I won this race becase 12B redlighted: RT: +.12 me, -.11 12B

Round 2 again vs. 12B now driving his Z06 (cam, LT, tune, exhaust)

60ft: 1.84 me, 1.78 12B
330 ft: 5.03 me, 4.92 12B
1/8 et: 7.55 me, 7.51 12B
1/8 mph: 98.91 me, 92.15 12B
1/4 et: 11.42 me, 11.48
1/4 mph: 125.73 me, 127.03 12B

12B apparently missed 3rd in this race so it looked close. He did get to the finish line first but it didn't matter I won again since he redlighted again: RT: +.10 me, -.05 12B

My round 3 race was with a guy that has a 88 5.0L spraying N20. A month prior to this event on the mustang MB there is a smack talk thread for trash talking your opponents before the event (again for fun). We went back and forth with each other trading insults and stuff. We get rated points depending on how well we do. I ended up on top points wise but the winner is voted on by all the members on the MB. Obviously since I don't drive a Ford product I lost in votes but this was the race of the day to settle it on the track.

Now my opponent on the day of the event he had some issues (or so he said). A frost plug popped off the block so he had to fix it at the track and then he didn't have enough bottle pressure for the nitrous. He couldn't do much with the bottle pressure so he raced his rounds 1&2 and lost both. Now he had to face me.

This was the last match of the day and everybody was glued to see how it will turn out. I was pretty sure I had it in the bag so I made sure I didn't redlight once we were staged and ready to go.

RT: +.44 me, -.06 him (he lost already)
60 ft: 1.75 me, 1.65 him
330ft: 4.91 me, 4.91 him
1/8 et: 7.42 me, 7.57 him
1/8 mph: 98.69 me, 92.77 him
1/4 et: 11.30 me, 11.71 him
1/4 mph: 124.68 me, 115.96 him

From my driver's seat it looked close at the finish but I'm pretty sure I edged him out to get there first. He is claiming that even though he redlighted he still reached the finish line before I did. I told him that if he cut a perfect tree on that pass and I did my pass I would still get to the finish line first so there's a disagreement there on that aspect of the race.

For me it didn't matter. I went 3-0 and my Whipple Whipper did the job. These cars are just sick!!!!!!!

I did one more race after the event was over. Last year I was going to race a 03/04 Cobra (he has 600 RWHP) when my round 3 didn't show. That person had a round 3 so we didn't get a chance to go. This year we hooked up after the event and lined up. Here's how this went:

RT: +.31 me, +.24 him
60 ft: 1.78 me, 1.66 him
330ft: 4.87 me, 4.84 him
1/8 et: 7.39 me, 7.45 him
1/8 mph: 98.09 me, 94.74 him
1/4 et: 11.30 me, 11.44 him
1/4 mph: 124.29 me, 120.65 him

This for me was the best race of the day. It was a very close race. I will post up a video later tonight or tomorrow of this race and provide videos of the other races too. Oh, and make it 4-0.

The 09 car was solid (just like the 08 car) but the difference this year was the line loc. I had clutch issues when I raced the 08. Saturday no clutch issues at all with the 09 car. The line loc worked amazing. I also won fastest street car in the open class of this event and got a plaque too and a t-shirt.

Great day, ran wicked and drove it home!!!!!!

very nice man! car looks like it can kick some ***. Honestly though, a 03 cobra with 600rwhp should trap 130+mph in the quarter

Wow, what an idiot. Next time you race him, while he's doing his burnout just take off down the track and claim victory.

interesting tho that the gt500 was the "faster" car, ableit the mods, I thought it would take more than that to beat a z06, especially considering your mods.

EVEN SO......YOU BEAT HIM. nice

12B's GT500 has a whipple, x-pipe, exhaust, tune. It's not stock. My car is basically stock save for the stuff that I added (which doesn't even compare to what 12B's GT500 has).

Both cars were on DR's. I think that for what I have done on my car I'm running pretty good!!!!

12B's got a couple of vids up of our 2 runs. First one is the T&T pass, second is the round 1 pass where he redlighted.

He's not claiming victory on that pass. He knows he lost by redlighting but saying that he got to the finish line first before I did when I am 4/10th's faster doesn't make sense.

Here is 12B's Z06 vs. Z06 vid:

http://www.youtube.com/user/100shot?...21/QzFkfnk2OZY

This is the one where he missed third and he also redlighted so I won.

Here is the vid of the 88LX with spray vs. my car, the hyped up race of the day. He also redlighted and from the vid you can see I clearly got to the finish line before he got there:

I will upload the Cobra vs. Z06 vid now. This race was after the event was over. It will be up shortly.

Really?

OP: Way to hold out!!! That whippled GT500 (and the cobra) had enough to get the win on you but you must of gotten their knee's clanking at the tree!

Good job!

Here's the vid of the Cobra vs. me. It's near the end of the clip. I have to apologize in advance for the tape quality. I used the wrong tape (has some warpage) to film the event so you get the lines and snow here and there but it's better than nothing.

Again this is filmed using my ancient VHS-C camcorder, then d/loaded to my laptop, compressed so it can be uploaded and not be massive in size.

And guys, take a look at the vid between me and the 88 5.0L lx and let me know if it looks like I got to the finish line first or did the stang get there, thanks. This is now turning to be a big debate over at the Stang MB.
