Both far more capable than the street tires on the cars would allow.

Jim Hall gave me the honor of driving his upgraded E 85 car first! He neglected to tell me until after the session that the CF ZR1 brakes needed to be bedded for the street and then again for the track. Let me first again repeat, this car has the smoothest power I have ever felt for a street car. It has so much power it can get you out of trouble. Unlike last year, I did not get the car sideways. However, I was disappointed at first in the CF brakes. I thought they would be as good as my Brembos and they were not. After several reasonable laps they did not get any better. Sooo, I decided to heat them.

Jim Brown (my passenger) and I rocket down the back straight and I just stood on the brakes but they did not stop very well. I did the same on the front going into turn one and they still were not much better. However, by the time I got to the end of the back stretch again the brakes really started to come in. The CF ZR1 brakes are a major upgrade over the Z06 stock brakes but as Jason stated, the tires would not allow me to compare them to a katech Z06 with Brembos and race tires.

Mr. Hall has one more sweet car and I thank him again for having the opportunity to aim it around the track. It was interesting to note that after the brakes were bedded on the track the rotors changed colors and they worked exceptionally well from then on. I don't know how long they will last on a road course but they are a good upgrade and will stop a high HP car quickly.

Jim, THANK YOU!

GREAT CAR!

Jim

Looked pretty even on the straights, but that's it. Everywhere else your C6.R is on rails!

Thanks for the video Mike and Jason. I wish I could have driven my car. There is always next year I guess.

Last year both eyes were jacked, this year only one, maybe next year they'll both be open.

You are welcome my friend. It is always fun to see you guys have fun. I have around 1,000,000 miles of driving fast and come from years of drag racing. This, however, is a different world altogether.

Brakes and suspension are just as important as power. Your passenger was Jim Booth of Corvette Accessories Unlimited, unless you pushed him out the door during the course.

Jim has some kind of racing license (not sure what it is) and has raced his car at Elkhart Lake, WI. A pretty decent driver and is my best friend out here. His club is using the Autobahn next year for their Auto X and High Speed events during the 2011 Convention. Last year he did all the driving to and from the event, when my eyes were giving me more trouble than this year.

Jim is a neat guy. I knew he has some experience by the way he talked and acted. Sorry for the incorrect ID. I corrected it. I know a Jim Brown and that is what I typed! !

In most cases suspension including brakes and tires are MORE important than HP!

Thanks again, my friend.

what does the C6.R weigh in at?

I've been watching Jim's thread about project ultraleggera. 600+ HP in a car weighing 2900 pounds... that should help the acceleration.
