You guys are both right on point in my view. The problem is we are 0.003% of the market. We are by far outweighed by the bling street superstars crew, which explains why you get carbon ceramic brakes but are stuck with crap seats.

Alright, I'll bite I'm a junior member and get pulled in easily...I didn't think it was so bad. At least it wasn't clay They were not trying to be too sneaky. I looked at the pictures in the link and the VIN clearly id's the car as a 2006 w/ LS2 . I was shopping for 200x Vette's recently and know that 8 in from the front is Engine code and 8 in from end is year.

Agreed. Im not being nit picky...just was surprised.

they still unveiled it as the 2011 corvette z06 carbon edition.....and its not a 2011, not a z06, and not a true carbon edition...

I guess it does have "corvette" in common. LOL.

They should have just called it a mock up...and been straightforward.

This is really nothing new. One of the early ZR1 display cars and at least one of the early Z06 showcars were created from earlier C6 "EX" cars. They serve their purpose, to display what the new model looks like. Money is tight at GM and EX cars are non-saleable - so why not recycle them?

Pricing will be somewhat in the middle of the zr1 and z06.

Don't forget with most dealers marking them up they will be fairly close to the ZR1 in price....this is just my opinion.

Dealers are now discounting ZR1s and some dealers will ask over MSRP for Z06 Carbon editions; the asking price will be pretty close. But the type of guys that want a Z06 Carbon probably wouldn't go for a ZR1 even at the same price.

The C&D story said 3150 pounds, another said 3175. Not too far from the
original 2006 Z06 weight of 3130 pounds.
No word yet on pricing but something starting with a "9" seems pretty likely.

Default Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Tires Should Come Standard!!!

The folks at GM should understand the value of low lap times. Why in the world would they NOT put PSC tires on the Z06 Carbon?
I'm thinking that it would give the Viper ACR some serious competition at the Ring.

The issue here would be that GM requires a specific sound level and filtration is always 99%+. Our filter is within 1% of the factory specs, but I doubt that they will bend their standards.

I have already contacted my GM guy, who may be helpful here.

If I was marketing this car, it would have a Katech E85 13:1 motor option with the Akrapovic full EVO titanium exhaust, Braille Battery, and other lightweight components. Our motor is at 650-660 HP and would pass CARB's emissions with no problems. I suspect even without cats. My wife drove it to church today.

Jim; What is the weight on 1 of the HallTech Carbon Z06 with 655 hp & slicks.

Do you have any turn key cars available?

We are on a weight loss program, so that number is a moving target right now.

Tomorrow's going to be a major loss day:

Looks like 48.4 lbs weight savings altogether.

Stock exhaust manifolds/cats: 48.92lbs
H-pipe : 15.6lbs
Cat Backs: 52.2lbs
Total stock exhaust weight: 116.72lbs

Kooks headers: 30lbs
Akrapovic Ti X-pipe (modified for mounting to Kooks) : 8lbs.
Akrapovic Ti cat backs: 30.32lbs The box it came in weighed as much as the exhaust system.

Total 68.32lbs

Savings: 48.4lbs

As far as we know, we now have the very first 100% titanium exhaust system on the market for the Z06/ZR1.

It aint cheap. $4320 plus shipping to your door from Milwaukee.

You've heard of Milwaukee Iron, we'll now we have Milwaukee Titanium. Actually Poland.

If it was a direct response they would have dropped the ZR1 motor in the Z06 and left off all the other garbage.
