I'm deeply saddened to announce the passing of a dearest friend to us all...
It is with great pain I share with you all and deeply saddened to announce the passing of a dearest friend to us all, forum member Frank Gonzalez. One of Frank's best friends Steve Landstra who is busy abroad right now made a great effort in letting me know, so this is in effect his post and I'm sure he'll chime in.
Frank was one of the most unselfish people I knew. He was the first guy to pick up a wrench and help a fellow track rat even if it meant missing his own track time. His assistance went beyond the track and was always there for anybody who needed a shoulder to lean on, or an ear to chew. He was an ambassador to not only Corvette, but in supporting America. His driving skills were among the best and any student who had Frank as an instructor surely walked away a safer driver.
Frank and Ole Yeller #97 showed Z06 owners what a virtual bone stock car could accomplish (shocks and tires) and made us all proud.
We would like to donate a brick in his memory, details forthcoming.
We lost one great man today!
His family is in my prayers.

How sad. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family and many friends.
I was fortunate enough to share one track experience with Frank, and from that brief encounter, I could tell he was special.
Rest in peace Frank.

Thanks Mike for posting and for the call earlier.
As you mentioned Frank was an awesome guy! He was always willing to lend a hand to fellow drivers and always willing to share his experiences. I will never forget his stories that he would tell and the bench racing at the end of an awesome day of track time. His smile was contagious as well as his laugh.
I will cherish the "Garage Mahal" towel that he gave me at the first Katech Track Attack.
We will miss you Frank, thanks for the memories!

I met Frank at the Happy Hour prior to last years Track Attack. Short Throw is exactly right,
he was very unselfish with his knowledge and time. He patiently instructed me how to get
best out of my car and the track the whole weekend. He even supplied A6 tires for anyone
to try. Eventhough I met him only once, I know I'll never forget him. He will be missed.

WOW I am in shock right now, I can't believe I am reading this! Frank was a great guy I met for the 1st time last year at track attack and it was a real pleasure. I know both Amy and myself wish you the best above Frank, RIP!! My sympathy goes out to Franks family and closest friends. Even though I only got to befriend him at track attack last year it is a great loss to see him pass on

Stano just called me and gave me the most disappointing news. I consider myself most fortunate to be considered a friend by Frank. He will surely be missed by those who knew him. Our prayers for Frank and his family.

I'm sorry that I never got to meet Frank in person as I missed the Katech Track Attack last year. I know I would have learned a lot from taking a lesion with him. Frank and I had our debates and disagreements from time to time in some of the threads in this section but I couldn't help but admire his love of the Corvette along with his willingness to help others to become better drivers and of course his deep love of this country. This was a man to be respected for sure.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends...
God bless and RIP Frank
