Default Body creak noises

I have done a search and seems several Z06 owners have this problem. I haven't diagnosed mine yet but I definitely get loud, annoying, noises from the rear of the car when on an uneven surface or going onto/off of a gradient.

Some details on it Here

Has anyone brought their Z in to get this fixed? I assume (hope) it would be covered even if the vehicle is out of warranty (mines an 06).

Anyone has this issue resolved? It's fairly embarrassing to have friends, family, etc for a ride and the car makes more noise than a Model T when I back out of the driveway or turn into an elevated parking lot.

Try the sway bar end links...pretty common and should be a warranty....check them and see if they wiggle from side to side....if they do then that could be the problem....I had the same issue and new end links fixed it....

My 06 isn't under warranty anymore. This wasn't a recall was it?

I had both noises--banging/knocking and popping/creaking sounds from uneven surfaces at slow speeds. I found a few things to correct that addressed most ALL of my bangs, knocks, pops, and creaks.

1.) I changed out the total JUNK OEM sway-bar end-links
2.) I torqued both lower cradles (front and rear)
3.) I torqued ball-joints and tie-rod ends that had a nut

I just got my weather seal grease yesterday--I'll do the weather seal on the back hatch to address the last few noises I hear.

V/R,

MC

On the Z it is typically the rear hatch seal rubbing. Open hatch & go over uneven pavement to verify. If it is lubricate.

Use di-electric grease on the weatherstripping.

My 06 had a squeek , drove me nut's (not a far drive).
The rear hatch hinges needed to be tightened.

Had the same issue over a year ago.

Grease the rear hatch locking mechanism liberally.

Oil won't do it. WD40 won't do it. Use grease. Same grease you would use for suspension parts.

I have not heard a peep out of mine in over a year now with just one application.

Some just use di-electric grease while others opt for the more expensive fix--DuPont's Krytox grease (ecklers carries it)

Tried adding some Dialectric grease and went over my driveway with the hatch up and the noise still persists.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have it on a lift and can take a look at the rear suspension.

Think I found the problem...

Yea...had it on a lift today to check out any possible culprits for the noise and change the oil. Thats the C clamp that holds the rear sway bar to the cradle.
