I have a friend who loves my Z06 and I think he would seriously consider buying one if he actually fit in it properly. I have a Caravaggio seat, and with his helmet on, he can't sit without touching the roof.
What do you 6'6" people do in order to fit into your cars... with helmets!
What seat, what seat rails etc..
6'6"? I'm only 6'4" and cant seem to fit with a helmet (stock seat)...regular driving is OK, but the helmet fit is what has kept me off the track. I would like to know how to resolve this also....
I am 6'2" and I have a sparco pro 2000 seat installed as low as it can go,(much lower than the stock seat) and with a helmet on I have minimal room to spare. No real solution I can think of.
There have been a few discussions on this and no real answers. I was wondering if it would work to take the stock seat off the rails and figure a way to bolt it directly to the floor bolts. That should free up a little head room, and possibly an inch of leg room if it can be moved back even an inch more than on the rails.
When I had my 02 z06 I pulled the seat out and flipped it upside down and pulled the springs from the base of the seat and reinstalled the seat. This allowed my backside to drop about 1 1/2". I tried this on my 09 and only gained 3/4", but I'll take it. It did require I reposition a couple of things under the seat.On my 02 Z and my 01 Viper, I mounted a Sparco seat down on the floor(made my own brackets) and was able to use my factory belts or my 6 point for the track. This gave me enough headroom to wear a helmet. The problem with my09 Z is the factory belt is mounted to the seat!

That is the reason I have stock seats. I can't fit in anything else, especially with a helmet on. I'm also glad that I have a 06 1LZ with the least amount of seat padding of all of them and no heaters. I can tell the difference when I get in an 07+ 2LZ.

I'm 6'5", 295 pounds and fit (albeit very tightly) in my '08 Z06 for racing. Stock seats. My head DOES rub on the roof, but not to the point of preventing me from racing.
I've actually found that pushing the seat "all the way down and all the way bacK" does not provide the best fit. By moving the seat slightly forward, thus allowing the seat to be tilted backwards more, I fit better.
Additionally, I have to pull the face of the helmet down tightly so the shape of the helmet fits.
That being said, I just won the 2009 SS Trophy in a 10-race series down here in Florida.
YMMV, as everyone's body composition is different.

everyone is over 6feet here? lol, im just at 6, and taller than 95% of people at least in this part of the world.
however, try lowering the seat as much as possible, and tilt the seat instead of sitting straight and pulling it as far back, a friend of mine drives like that, hes tall and you can barely see his head lol.
I'm 6'6" at about 250 (260 after Christmas ) and I find the head room is better than my C5 but the leg room is a little less. My legs slightly rub against the bottom of the dash when shifting, but the worst part is I cant see the HUD without sloutching way down. It's the price I pay to be
tell him to buy a CTS-V. Quite possibly the roomiest car I have ever sat in. For once, I had to move the seat forward an inch or 2 from the furthest setting. I was shocked!
I'm 6'6 230lbs and have no problems with head room, even with a helmet. Granted, I only wear my helmet for a few minutes at a time while at the dragstrip. Stock seats, 08 1LZ, guess my legs are longer than my torso

6'6" - that's going to be tough. I'm 6'2" and with the helmet I need to move the seat forward a little more that I would have it on the street. Then I tilt the back of the seat toward the rear of the car to decrease my verticle height. That worked in my 1LZ car. Jason at Katech said he can notice a difference with the 2LZ seats. I hope it isn't that much different as it was pretty tight on my 1LZ. At least the 2LZ has the telescoping steering wheel so you don't have to reach so far out to the wheel.
fyi: Torso and inseam sizes will make a big difference in how you need to adjust the seat.
