Default Vararam Pic Needed

So I've seen pics of the engine side install but really need to see how the front scoop looks before I commit to buying one.

Also....doesn't the scoop for the Vararam take away cooling capacity from the radiator ?

it fits much like the OEM IMO except it goes 3ins lower and picks up tons of air. Just put a SS mesh grill on last week and should have snapped a pic. You can really see it when u pull the grill/splitter insert off.

Well.....I was hoping for subtle. Ok....not sure how subtle a Z gets these days but subtle enough that nobody knows the difference.

How's the filter by the way ?

the filter is much like a K/N. The 2 rubber retainers on the housing pop right off in a second. But what sucks is it is such a tight fit i still have to loosing the band clamp to pull it losse up top to have room down low to pull the filter out. It in no way blocks the radiator air flow though. All in all I'm happy with it, was easy to paint and look alot better now.

Just hard to visualize how the lower inlet is positioned.....seems like it would be in the radiator path but then again I've never laid on the ground to check. (I'm sure some knuckle head has )

grear gains with the vararam as you can actually feel the car pulling harder the faster you go. it does make the car run 30 deg hotter in the summer tho.

30 Degrees hotter ?? I would have guest a much milder increase in the 10-15 degree range at most.....interesting.

Thanks for the pics.....scoop looks pretty hidden unless you know what to look for......looks like my mind is made up.

along with my vararam i did stat and tune...in az the summers are hot...i have no issues with running hot....my main purpose for the mods was to keep iat's and coolant temps in the sweet spot...works well for me....i very rarely get into zones where timing gets pulled...

I've always been leery of low temperature thermostats......always seems to mess with some emissions equipment and promotes development of sludge in the oil. So far the car runs well with some modest tweaks to the fan threshold temperature.......195-205 tops in traffic seems about right. Gotta love EFI live

rad wont do any good. rad on a z only gets air fron the front grill-not from under the car like the c6 and the scoop covers the opening and air passes thru the cut shroud. in 115* temps and no vararam car runs 205 with ac on in traffic. its been tested and verified on 2 vararam equipped z's here in vegas
