I would say PS2.Its a far better tire in the dry,and even better then the GY in the rain.It does not have the grip of an R6 or a Pilot Cup,but it will do everything better then the GY.

I run Nitto Invos - excellent on the dry and in the wet. If you have more money to burn go with the NT05's
I dont wanna spend much on these tires been that im gonna run the crap out of them and will only b used in the winter, and track. I have 360 wheels for the warmer weather w/ NT05's, Just not sure how they handle at the track. I've noticed the ps2's are more expensive then the NT05's.

I run PS2's and can tell you they need heat in them before the start to grip. Even temps
in the 50's make them hard and break loose VERY easily. If they are for winter use only
you might want to consider softer compounds.
I like my Nitto INVOs. For the price, I don't think you can beat them. I haven't taken mine out for a road course day so I can't help you there.
I have run an 11.1 on them though without even pushing them hard. I also think their grip and feel on the street is great. They aren't the stickiest tires I've ever had, but then again, you mentioned you wanted to balance cost v. performance.
I keep thinking about changing to a 19/20 setup -- if I go that route, I'll definitely stick with the INVOs. If I end up keeping my 18/19 HRE setup, then I may try a set of Hoosier A6 tires for a while.

if you like smelly stinky tires, then buy nittos
invos also have thin sidewalls so your handling wont be as good.
the goodyear is really not as bad as people say, i'd definitely pick it over the invos.
i have the ps2s now and am really happy with them, probably best tire overall, but more expensive.
Are you saying you could hook up with the GY's under full throttle before...?
I live at 2000 ft. of elevation which does affect power production. Even so, when new they would break loose at around 5000 RPMs in 1st and sometimes spin a bit at the top of 2nd. I was recently at sea level and matted the throttle in 1st which caused them to spin hard all the way through 1st and 2nd. I figured that was due to the denser air. However, just the other day at 2500 ft. I nailed it on a roll and the car was all over the place through the first 2 gears and that is not normal.
Bear in mind that, although there's decent tread left these tires have 13000 miles on them. I'd read that they get greasy towards the end of their life cycle and now I'm a believer!
I'm about ready to replace the factory F1s now. They have tread left but can't hook under full throttle anymore. I'm leaning towards the NT05s but I'd like to hear more about them.
homel01- how would you compare the turn in and grip to that of the F1s?
Dreamin- do you know why the folks you mentioned went to other tires?

I bought my car with 6000miles. The GY were already dead by then. The GY are awful, they bounce and have poor traction. First thing I did was change the tires. I got the NT 05 because I live in Puerto Rico and it is always hot. The NT 05 are a summer tire which means that they are designed to perform the best when the road is dry. Still here it rains a lot and I have driven my Nt05 at 80mph in the rain anbd they behave.
Now my vette has10450, 4500miles on the NT05, 3 track days, and 1 drag day. They are still holding up pretty good.
I checked the Michelin and went with the Nt05 because of the price. I don't care about driving with non runflats so it was easy decision for me.
The difference between Invos and NT 05 is that the invos perform better in wet, but the NT perform better in dry.
Will I buy the NT 05?
Why did I change my GY as soon as I got my car?
Friend of mine. 30 years plus of driving experience, driving instructor.. Totaled his Z06 because of the GY, at 6000miles. He has a new Z, with invos. Called GM and they told him that the GY were good for 5k-7,500miles, depending how you drive
I use the NT05's for street and auto-x. I will put my new GY's on as soon as Auto-x is over. The NT05's have somewhat better turn in and grip than the GY's (maybe 15%).They are not by a long shot Hoosier A6's. I will take the car for long drives during this "off" season and would prefer run flats for that reason. The NT05's still look new after 10 Auto-x sessions and probably 4000 "other" miles. I carry a Patch boy kit and compressor. I won once, (out of 36 cars in the street tire class this season )but I miss the R-tire class. I think the NT055's are better at 35-37 pounds hot for auto-x(than30-32 cold) but I really do not know.
