Would you guys just SHUT THE HECK UP!! Linda will get wind of this and I'll be totally screwed. We are soon to loose one more grandchild to the real world and she has been looking to trade in her Nissan land yacht for something fun. Just before I bought my Z, I actually looked at the first gen CTS-V and was very impressed. When I heard of the current config, I felt veeerry tempted to go take a look. As I said, it's probably better if Linda is kept in the dark.

Default My comparison

This is hard as my Z is heavily moded from top to botton and inside out.

The z is an animal - outhandles, outperforms the CTSV in every category including braking (this being determined by very agressive driving - the CTSV brakes begin to fade far before the Z std brakes). It is, of course, not as comfortable as the Cadi but its not a Cadi. Howver, I do NOT find the Z to be uncomfortable - I think it has something to do with body size - I weigh 170 while my wife is 102.

The CTSV is fun to drive and a sleeper. I find the funnest part of driving it is smoking others off the line (not racing at all), just punching it from a stop light. Many a Stang, Ricer, and Euros have no idea of the beast under the hood. It is comfortable but I had to change my stock tires to INVOS - made a major difference in ride quality. The CTSV is my DD and I have racked up 22K in 8 months - I plan on driving it for another 2 years and pray it is still available when I trade-in. The trunk space is good as any other car it's size but the porthole through the back center arm rest is great for carrying long items - I wish the rear seats folded forward for bulkier items. I have noticed heatsoak in the Florida summer - it simply doesnt perform as well in the summer over the cooler months. Finally, it EATS GAS regardless if you drive moderate or not.

I don't know if eat gas is the right term, 9mpg when you play hard, 12mpg when you play nice and average 17 combined. Not bad with the ponies under the hood but they keep getting out of the corral and playing.

Though I think I know what you meant with the word TRADER or TRAITOR being in the euphomism.

V has a nice rumble at idle and quite on the highway until you jumo in to the SC. This V hauls the mail with ease!!! Had to school a couple of my vette club members when they tried grandpa's caddie!!!!! I'll keep checking in on you guys while I'm over @ CTS-V forum. It's been a great ride! Save the Wave I'll keep waving to you guys!

Outstanding Mike, I'm thinking of doing the same thing in the near future. Although I haven't made up my mind on which "touring car" to buy the CTS-V is one of my choices.
