Adding an intake does not void your warranty. (Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act)

This intake will not trigger your check engine light

two last questions it might sound stupid will the engine rumble sound increase when accelrating ? also hows the fuel economy I remember when I had 2004 gto whenever I installed a intake was getting less mpg.

The intake will not change your exhaust sound "note".
It does have a more prominent intake sound.

Technically it should improve gas milage...

I am looking to replace a stock, 2008 ZO6 filter element, with a better aftermart, filter element replacement. I can't use the whole CAI system for my application. I am using all stock components now. So a good, higher flowing direct replacement element, is all I am looking for. Do you, or anyone else offer anything????

Looking for something besides the K&N. Heard the oil in the filter, could cause some problems. Not sure if thats true. Just what I heard.

I am not aware of any non-oiled replacement filter.

if you are worried about to much oil on the filter, simply wrap it in newspaper overnight

Default Corvette Airaid SynthaMax CAI

I see on your home page a SynthaMax intake. Is this a "better" model?

Just personal preference.

The Oiled Filter flows about 5% better, but both flow more
Air than a stock/lightly modded car can flow

This is an easy 20hp you can feel if you have a "sensitive a__" meter. I just went to the dealer with mine and the tech said intake and catback are ok but touching cats or anything else will void the warranty. Another thing there is a loud whistling with my airraid that is heard at part throttle. This is normal and cannot be heard with the windows up. I consider it the sound of 20 unleashed horses.

I've had Airaid intakes on other vehicles so I'm interested in buying one for the Z. Not like it's a bad thing, but any particular reason this brand is half the price of the others? I'm guessing it's just because Airaid is a larger company with lower unit production costs but not sure.

We get that question a lot...

I can tell you I've seen every unit made for the Corvette.

It is better made than almost all of them...

The build quality is solid as a rock, the rotomolded chassis
is thick and polished on the inside with not seams. The filter
flows with the best of them.

It is a great unit, through and through...never
heard a bad word...

I am pleased with my Airaid intake, it picked up 11 rwhp through nearly the entire run from 3k to 7k on an otherwise stock vehicle.
