Ported my throttle body
I ported my throttle body on my 08Z yesterday. Took a couple of hours and it was not really difficult. The throttle response is crisper. Just touching the pedal makes the motor rev and the car move. My car had a slight surge when the throttle was cracked and the car coasting at a slight downgrade at around 1500 rpms. After the porting, this is all but gone. I used a die grinder to remove the gross material and the ridges. Then a 2" sanding drum first 80# then 120#. I then hand sanded the surface with crocus paper, 400 grit then 600 grit sandpaper and then used a buffing wheel with polishing paste. I did both sides of the throttle blade. The ridge was quite significant and I opened up the throat near the throttle blades but stayed about a quarter of an inch away from the blades. This improvement was next to free! Pictures below of before the porting, after, and what I used.

Nice work *****. Can't beat doing it yourself and saving the $150 or so it usually costs.
Did you get your converter sorted out so that you can make it out to infineon Weds?

Hope you didnt altar the sides on the top right left and bottom right left that look like little gaps on the sides of the throttle body. If you want this far in you can effect the way it idles and cause all kinds of problems. IF you are running it now and it works fine then chances are you are ok. Good luck. !

4 bolts (a couple of minutes). No new gasket needed. The original gasket is an o-ring type and reusable.

HI Richie. The converter came to the office this morning. I'll be there Wed nite. Can you make it?

I don't think additional tuning is needed for such a slight change. I have a vararram and was thinking of a tune in the future, but for now, this change definitely has helped throttle response. If you can unscrew 4 bolts, you will be ok with this mod.
