New Motor! Happy to be back on the road!
First of all, I want to thank Jason at katech for all of his help and patience! Unfortunately, I did not go with Katech with the thought that I could not afford it. Although, I end up spending almost 25k! Instead, I elected to go with Charlie of RPM ultimately because he is closer to me (RPM in California and Me in Nevada). I also thought that I would save some $ but at the end, as I mentioned above, a few $ short of 25k.
I have yet to really get on it. Most miles are street miles ~700 miles and I drive like an old lady on the street. The true test will come this weekend where I plan to run it in Spring Mountain for the corvette weekend. Although, I'll still only plan to run her only up to 5,500 RPM.
Here's a few pics:
ARE Tank Stage II
Pic of the car now!
We're still working a few minor things to complete her but it's almost there! I'm just glad it's back on the road. The build process was LONG and I'm really hoping and crossing my finger that at the end, I could say it was all worth the time and patience I had to endure.
At any rate, I hope it performs decent this weekend and finish her up in a few more days after my run.
BTW, here's the stats:
Mahle Forge & Coated Pistons (coated includes wris pins)
Forge steal connecting rods
Forged "H" Beam Rods (ARP Bolts)
Stock Crank
Clevite H Bearings
Akerly and Childs Rings
Stock Heads & Block
Stainless Steel Exhaust Valves & Stock intake valves
Nextek Spring Kit & Hardwares
RPM's ported throttle body and intake
Cloyes "Hex adjust" LS7 timing gears & chain set
Comp Cam
Morel roller lifters
ARE Oil Pan & Tank (Stage II)
Crowler Rocker Arms
ARP Head stud & Main stud
Evans Race water pump & billet pulley
Katech Valve cover and belt tensioner
RPS Twin Clutch (Carbon to Carbon)
Manley Spring Kit
Mentioned above are the list of upgrades I did and the rest I believe is stock. As soon as I'm able to scan my dyno sheet I'll post. It ran a decent 500 tq & 550 hp at the wheels. I'll reserve my impression once I have had the chance to run her in the track. I'm really not big on dyno sheet/runs. I judge the car the way it feels to me when I'm running hard in the track. We'll see! I'll post again after this weekend and share my findings.

Good luck this weekend. That was a lot of $$$ and a long list of parts. Hopefully you will have a smile on your face after the right foot goes all the way down!

I try to be as thorough as possible in my quotes and cover everything. There are no surprises that way. That often comes back to bite me when the customer gets promised something else that ends up being more expensive in the end. People often think we are the most expensive, but the truth is in the end we're very competitive. Too often I hear people say I wish I would have come to Katech. Very sad.

Congrats to being back on the road
