Default Got dynod stock numbers....freak???

i just got my car dynod a couple weeks ago at 8900miles, the car is stock and always seemed to pull strong (as a Z06 should).

After buying and installing a K&N intake on it it felt a little slower so i wanted to get a before and after dyno done to make sure i wasnt losing power with out having it tuned. To my surprise i was losing a tremendous amount of power in the midrange, and topend too. The guy performing the dyno said it felt almost as if it was detinating. Those numbers came out to 454rwhp and 380tq with a nasty midrange tq curve. we swapped out to the stock intake and the car run much better putting down 473rwhp and 438rwtq bone stock!

heres a pic of the dyno chart (scanner having problems):
Red is stock curves, blue is K&N.

and heres a vid of the dyno... at the end of these computer generated daily driver races....

intake reinstall with tune soon to come

Those are STD numbers you need SAE corrected numbers.

Did you bother to read his post?, he clearly says that he lost power with the K&N intake.

Sounds like the car was leaning out some. Id put it back on like you said and have it tuned and fatten it up. I am certain it will put out atleast 10 more hp than what it is running right now with the stock intake on if not more. I picked up ALOT with just the KN. My car was 486 with just a KN and NO tuning.

That dyno graph is horrible. It's scaled differently for hp and trq which makes it very hard to read. Was the operator new to the dyno? Why wouldn't he log AFR's? Something was going on between those two runs besides an intake swap.

Enlighten me.
Do you honestly think his car picked up 75whp and 78wtrq in the mid range with an intake swap?

HP is scaled on the left, TQ is scaled on the right, hard to visualize where they would cross.

second, he didn't pick up 75 HP with an intake, he lost 75 HP with an intake.

the AFR is bogus.

who uses SAE numbers anyway?

So you really believe he lost 75whp with an aftermarket intake?

Look at the RPM on the bottom, way off. HP and TRQ must cross at 5250, in his graph they do not, the graph is wrong and pretty much useless information.

If you look at the scale on each side, they do actually measure the same at 5,250, just the lines do not intersect there. It is just waaaaaaaay confusing looking because HP and TQ are not on the same scale. It is at about 357 on the blue lines and about 435 on the red lines, right?
