Default Just installed LG Pros!!!!!

I just installed some LG Super Pros 1 3/4 LTs on my dads 08 ZO6. It was very easy and made the car little bit louder. The install only took about 6 hrs, the hardest part was the removal of stock manifolds. I read the directions and it didnt say to remove the cats then the manifold. I tried for a long time to get them out, I even took off the starter. I didnt know if the 08's are different than the 06-07, cause the directions said, "take the H-pipe out and then remove the manifolds and the manifolds will drop right out." Anyone else had this problem? But the install of the headers was VERY easy, went right in without a problem. I havent had a chance to drive it yet, but there is no CEL and the vette sounds good!! Im getting my tuner to go over it and do some adjustments. My dad wont let me dyno it, so sorry I cant tell you the rwhp it makes. Just thought Id share!

Cool, nice job, is there a link on the web to the directions? I would be interested in taking a look at them.

Well, what exactly was the problem in removing the stock manifolds? Clearance?

When I installed my ARH long tubes on my 08Z, the cat downpipes bolted onto the bottom of the manifolds must have been torqued at 300 ft-lbs. Either GM's torque setting for those bolts was off that day, or Bruno was filling in for that shift.

Haha I totally The cats have 4 bolts that are bolted to the bottom of the manifold. They will not come out cause of clearance. You have to take the cats off or you will be cussing like I did for a couple of hours. I took a couple of pics of the cats and the manifold outside the car. I had to use a breaker bar to break them loose and then a impact gun to take the off.

+1 on this one. I would like comments from everyone else, but does it even make sense for 1 7/8 inch primaries unless you are making over 600 to the wheels? The 1 7/8 are going to give you great WOT number, but what about your mid range torque?

Should have used PB Blaster and let those bolts soak for awhile.

IIRC, you don't have to remove the downpipes, just loosen them from the manifold and that will give you the wriggle room.

Stock 427's or bolt on C6Z's I say go with the 1 3/4" they do make more torque, especially under 2500-2800 RPM. HP difference isn't that much at that point.

If you are planning on a lot of modifications down the road...the larger 1 7/8" will make more mid to upper HP.

I dont think its a bad idea, there is a guy here in Greenville, SC that has a 08 ZO6 with a vara ram and the LG Pro's 1 7/8 and V8muscle.net tune. he made 504 rwhp and 493 rwtq. But i know every car is different
