"Put four cars of this caliber together and only one word comes to mind... drag race". Huh? Did any of the Motor Trend writers ever graduate from high school? Do they seriously think that this sort of display counts as a "test"?

A Lambo should have taken the place of the Nissan, which in my opinion, does not belong in that class.

Considering that drag racing is huge in the states and most people will never take their car to a road course... i feel that YES, this is a very revealing test.

Could it be worded better, maybe, but I thought it was just fine compared to the usual shenanigans motor trends tends to pull whenever an american car is in the group.

Now, i also agree that the GTR is way out of its league here.... even with the "established" more than factory rating of 480hp, it should of been grouped with an M6, E63 black series, maybe a LS3 Z51 C6, etc.

HOWEVER, i feel that being in this group is a good thing as we can truly see its REAL WORLD potential. We all know that corvettes can handle well around a track thus, this test will hopefully shut some of the trolls that lurk around saying that the GTR is unbeatable. Well, it got beat.... BAD! And from my experience, a ZR1 is not that much faster than MY Z06.

I wonder how many owners on this site can afford to put tires and brakes on after road racing. I know I can't but I still want to go fast and would love to road race one day. Drag racing in my book is OK.

Didnt they turn all the electronic aids OFF on the ZR1 and turn them all ON in the GTR?

I thought the GTR was the second coming? Seems more like the last coming

Yes they did, and thats what makes the vid THAT much funnier to watch.

GTR barely puts a car on the group WITH LAUNCH CONTROL.

Fun video, I was actually a little impressed at how well the Ferrari and especially the 530hp Porsche were doing. I think the Viper is Vette's biggest rival, where was it for this test?

Impressive....and I like it!

As mentioned, it would have been nice to see the Viper ACR in this crowd. Furthermore, I wonder how it would have turned out with some tight corners or bends, etc?

Oho!!!! Parquia'o!!!!!!

Yeah, i saw that first hand. The c6 z06 does have heads and cam plus bolt-ons HOWEVER, it only a car on a stock Z06. Yeup, you guessed it.. it runs lie crap!!! I have tried numerous times to help the guy out and see what is holding the car back... but he is just way to stubborn to even tell me what cam is in it, what heads are in it. He swears by this guy that tunes for him but apparently, he has no idea what the hell he is doing.

Anyways... I would of love to see a 08' viper in the mix, would of been a test. GTR was/is anclao!!!!

Would have been nice to see the ACR or and LP640 instead of the GT-R. The Nissan is clearly outgunned there.

I think the Viper and Lambo should have been in this test.

GT-R is out of it's league here.

Test seems to be accurate in acceleration. My Z06 with cam and header plus other bolt-ons puts about the same distance on my stock GT-R. True to this test the GT-R is out of the hole first.

Great video! Let's just be as equally interested in the outcome of the spec-v gtr when it is compared to the ZR1, whatever the outcome may be - it will not doubt be more competitive and equally priced.
