[PICS] Katech Street Attack Z06 #36. or should I say Chemical Attack?
Ed's Z06 arrived to us with most of the cosmetic modifications done. It already had the paint work, stripes, and interior components. We were in charge of rebuilding the engine and preparing it for a little juice.
it features:
Street Attack LS7
Katech's beefy new LS7 nitrous piston
DLC coated pins
Callies H beam rods
Callies Dragonslayer crankshaft
Lingenfelter stud girdle
Main studs
Head studs
ATI damper
C5-R timing chain
Katech valve covers and intake, show prepped
Exedy twin disk clutch
Ron Davis radiator
Koolmat tunnel heat shield
and a fresh set of rear tires (Ed is going to need them)
Once Ed gets used to the new power he will be adding a healthy nitrous shot. For those of you going to Track Attack 2009, watch out on the back straight! Ed has a little surprise for you. ssssssssssssssssssss

Love the paint job, the black end looks sweet!
Jason, got a question: you have stated that Katech does not perform any mod that will violate federal emissions law (no headers, relocating cats,...) .
What about federal safety regulations? I understand that Ed's car already had the new seats installed. Do you install the Caravaggio seats in other cars? I read somewhere that GM didn't (or couldn't) improve the seats in the Corvette (long a negative point) due to having to recertify for crash tests. I assume the Caravaggio seats were not tested with the Corvette, and thus do not pass the crash test. Same with the Caravaggio steering wheel. I'd love to have their seats/steering wheel in my car whether they were tested or not, so this question is just out of curiosity.
Thanks,

We will install Caravaggio seats, but only in 1LZ cars with no side airbags. We will not eliminate the side airbag. If we are modifying anything related to safety (brakes, seats, suspension), the customer signs a waiver.
The Caravaggio wheel is actually a modified production wheel. I don't know if that counts for anything.

Nope. Its a Lingenfelter Mass AirFlow sensor. It was already equipped.

Backfires in the intake manifold are caused by fuel pooling in the intake manifold. This can be caused by a faulty fuel solenoid or incorrect triggering (failed activation switch, improperly wired activation switch, window switch set too low). Fuel in the intake manifold ignites and boom. With an explosion of that magnitude, possibly with the added catalyst of nitrous in the manifold it doesn't matter what material your intake manifold is made out of, it will be gone.
