C6Z06 with bolt-ons vs LS3 with paxton novi at the strip
A good friend of mine are new to the corvette community, and have had a nice rivalry dating back to our previous cars, 500whp+ STi's. About 7 months ago, we both sold our suby's and bought 08 vettes, and we couldnt be happier .
My car is an 08 Z with american racing headers/hi flow x pipe, killerbee cai/vette air, ported intake manifold/tb, dyno tune, stock tires. My numbers were 465/431 with kb/vette air + tune before the headers/ported intake mani/tb were installed. My car was retuned but the dyno was having voltage issues, couldnt get an accurate reading...I'm guessing 490's/450 range.
His vette is an 08 Z51/MN6, american racing headers/off road x pipe , and an ecs paxton novi kit, dyno tune, stock tires, 520whp/475tq.
Neither one of us are great corvette drivers, although I have a little more experience than my buddy. I am used to cutting 1.6x 60ft and running 10's in my suby, but cant manage anything better than a 2.0 on my oem tires.
anyway, here's a few vids and pics from today, enjoy
btw, you cant hear my z over his off road x pipe .

my best pass was 11.68 at 125 with a 2.1 60ft, his best was a 12.0 at 124 with a 2.0 60ft. We both know there is a lot more potential in our cars, but we had a great time keeping our rivalry going.

thanks! I'm just waiting on my rockers, then the lethal z cam is going in either this week or next. do you see any reason why i wont gain 5mph with a cam upgrade? I trapped 98mph in the 8th and 125mph in the qtr, hoping for low 100's/low 130's.

one night while we were in mexico we went from 45-145, stayed door to door the entire way. at the time, I had an intake and tune, 465/431, but now have headers, ported intake manifold/tb.

hookay, after searching for a minute, i found this handy tool on dragtimes.com...
http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php
160ft above sea level, 84.2 degrees, 30.16 barometric pressure, 35% humidity, and the DA was 1716ft. my "corrected et/mph" is 11.45 at 127mph, haha!

looking at the trap speeds, should be a pretty close run should you do battle on the highway

He should get an alky kit and blower cam to even things up a bit!!! Sounds like a fun rivalry. What will you do if he forges the LS3 and turns up the boost

He's not going to run alky, he had it on his sti and doesnt want to mess with the pro's/con's again. however, he is already thinking about a blower cam, which would make things interesting again.
there was basically a .25 - .5 benefit to me with roughly the same mph between the 2 cars on 4 clean pass's (aside from both of our crappy 60's). Once the cam goes in it will get ugly, but I hope he installs a blower cam to keep things interesting.

well, my lethal z cam goes in this/next week, just waiting on a set of rockers, everything else is on the dining room table ready to go, haha!

Whats odd is that I ran 124mph at the same track with similar DA (+1680' in my case) with 477whp/437wtq. I thought a blown LS3 would rip me a new one @ 520whp/470wtq. Matter of fact, for an LS3, those numbers seem very low considering the mods/boost level. He should be closer to 600whp.
