Hmm, usually any kind of 'GM' stamp means that they are in fact OEM/factory wheels but the replica wheel companies might've gotten hip to that trick maybe?
Made in the USA, that's cool though.

GM stamp says its a factory GM wheel.

Speedline made many of the GM OEM Z06 wheels - some consider the Speedlines to be the better of the OEM wheels, but I haven't heard of problems with either OEM manufacturer.

Cheers,
Kent

all 2006 and a few 2007 Z06's got the Amcast built "USA" wheels. 2007 -2008 Z06's got the speedline wheels. the speedline wheels are slightly lighter when you compare the same finish like polish to polish.

what you have there is a set of 2006 or early 2007 amcast oem wheels.

the repros say nothing on the back hubs. speedline is better than amcast but both high quality IMO

i have had several sets of each

I don't believe chrome was an option in 2006.

If you have a set of early Amcast factory wheels that are chrome, they may have an aftermarket chrome job on them.

I have a set of OE wheels that are chrome on my 2005 coupe that are factory original wheels but they didn't come from the factory chromed. You can tell if they have an aftermarket chrome job because the factory chrome wheels come with painted barrels, and the aftermarket chrome wheels come chrome all over the entire wheel. The aftermarket ones usually come with a generic center cap with some generic cross-flag logo instead of the factory chrome colored center cap with proper C6 crossed-flags.

Not a surprise to me...Chrome alone is usually good for up to 1.5 lbs depending on the quality and completeness of the job. The different manufacturer may account for the rest even if the actual chrome penalty is less....
