Post your garage pictures! I'll start first...
Well, I've been pretty busy lately working on the home for my '91...but I think it really needs a Ron Fellows Z06 to keep it company now.
I've always been impressed with SW's garage, and Mike (aka Short-Throw) really set the high mark for a high class facility.
I've been planning this garage for 4 years now. The rest of the studio needed attention first, but now I have been given the green light to finish MY part of the facility.
It's been a long 3 or 4 months, and it isn't QUITE done, but here are some pictures for you...
The cabinets are from Moduline. I got the epoxy for the floor from UCoatit. The backsplash on the counters is SlatWall covered in brushed aluminum.
That's an Eagle 10k lb. Asymmetrical lift in there.
The shop has been plumbed with air in 6 locations so I don't need long hoses in there (3 spread out on the bench, 2 on either side of the 16' garage door and on the lift).
We have BMW, MINI & Rolls-Royce looking at our facility to use for tech training (both videos and live classes).
If you go to the link, select "Studio" then "Photographs" to see more pictures of the studio.
BTW...the picture of the "bar taps" is just outside the shop...
We are also talking to PBS about hosting a car maintenance show in here...with a drop-dead beautiful lady that knows her stuff about cars.
Here are a few shots of her...(and no...she isn't my other half).
I'm going to build all the frames for the shop so they are hard-mounted to the walls and hinged. That way we can just open them and swap out without worrying if they are level.
We are also entertaining the idea of using this for photo shoots. Magazines and private individuals are always looking for a unique location to take pictures of cars.
Now comes the fun of moving all the tools into their new home...
Enjoy!

I put a lot of hours into this place...I've done everything on my own (except for building the cabinets).
Trim work, paint, floor, setting cabinets...it was truly a labor of love.
I posted this to show others what CAN be done to make a garage really awesome. The cabinets and the aluminum-faced Spacewall were really the only big $$$ item in the whole place. The low-pressure laminate versions of the Slatwall run about $35-$50 per sheet. I only used 2 sheets for this application (but the AL facing was a HUGE price markup...OUCH).
Throw them out and I have < $10k into it in materials (including the lift).
Any brand of cabinets could work...the first quote for cabinets were MDF with Formica facing (any style I chose) for around $4k. We chose the Modulines because of the look...and we needed something that would hold up to the wear & tear of video production. The powder-coated aluminum will take some abuse before it starts to show it.
Lista was insane...they wanted $27k for just the cabinets (not including the counter tops)...that was 1/2 of the cost of the entire kitchen cabinet layout we installed. My other half wasn't gonna go for that.
But a buttload of time was spent in there...

She grew up with 3 brothers and they all worked together with their dad on all kinds of cars (including scratch-building sand-rails).
I just have to keep thinking in my head "look into her eyes...look into her eyes...look into her eyes".
