Default Nitto Invo review.

Preface:
I've owned my Z06 since February and since I have attended several HPDEs (tied the track record for a Z06) and logged 12,000 miles. I run QA1 adjustable shocks primarily for a softer ride on the street and a firmer ride on the track. My fronts were at 50% and the rears were down to the wear bars.

Road Noise: On a scale of 1-10, 10 being mud tire loud. I'd rate the runflats an 8. The Invos a 2....yes they were so much quieter it was like wearing ear plugs! I can now hear my exhaust while cruising and the radio even sounds better. My GF never wanted to ride with me because she said the car was bouncy and loud....NOT ANY MORE!

Ride: Runflats are harsh, damn harsh. I always thought it was just the car but it was ALL the tires. I still can't believe how great the ride is now. There was a bigger difference in ride than when I swapped in QA1 shocks!

Traction: Straight line seems equal if not better than the GY runflats. Cornering seems markedly better, With the runflats I noticed constant sliding in fast corners...almost like marbles under the tires. The Invos just plain grip!

Summary: All Corvettes should have come with this tire from GM. None of the negative reviews about harsh ride and extreme road noise would have ever happened. None of the posts about strange front tire slippage in parking lots would have ever been told. Until you have tried these tires you will never know just how bad the GY runflats suck *****.

Thanks for the review! Do you have the $50 fix-a-flat kit from Costco?

Nope, no Costcos in my state. I have a $10 12v air compressor and tire plug kit from Harbor Freight. I keep a pair of pliers too for pulling nails. I used this same method to plug 2 nail holes I acquired in my drivers rear tire with the runflats. The only difference now is I can't drive slowly anywhere to find shelter while doing the repair. I was skeptical about these tires living up to the previous reviews. I now see most were holding back how great they really are in fear of getting "Fooshed".

Since nittos are 1-200 cheaper, that's a big change you could save.

seen it. i wanted to see a good shot of it on the Z. so far, the guys on the alley are saying the invos run quite a bit smaller than the MPS's

that wont be a bad thing for the Z as its already 2 sizes larger but a pic or 2 would help

What sizes did you get and do you have a recommended source? Have you tracked them yet? Tread wear? Pricing?

Thanks in advance

Click on experience > sound > art of sound. Very well produced advertising. There's even an "art of engineering" segment that is educational.

I've have the Invos on my iForged wheels for two weeks now. Love 'em.

New vs. new I'd have to disagree about the traction statement. I've tried launching at the same spots with new F1's vs Invos and the Invos don't work as well. I'm not saying the Invos are bad, they just didn't hook AS hard, but definately acceptable. It's too soon to tell about the Invos, but once the F1's have some wear it is very hard to hook with them. I'm suspecting the Nittos will last much longer and not turn into something dangerous before with half it's tread left like my F1's did.

I'd definately agree with the statement about road noise because the Invo's are quiet! Again, so far I'm loving the Invos.

Nice review

Run flats are convenient but personally, I don't mind changing a flat, so for me, I would prefer non run flats with a spare.
