Ok. I'll cop to that. I was rude and I apoligize.

Your response to "bearmans" struck a nerve with me. Maybe because I've worked alongside some of those guys at the old PBC in Wixom.

I think the point "bearmans" was making was not that GM should not have to stand behind defective products, but that GM Powertrain did not make the manufacturing errors which cause valve guide wear in some LS7 heads. It was a GM supplier which did so.

I think it hardly likely that "bearmans" feels GM is not obligated to repair defective LS7s which are covered by a warranty.

Their will be a bar code sticker on the front of the driver's side head just behind the alternator. Post that number up and it will get decoded with quite a bit of information including the born on date.

Is this a new car? I'm not sure I can decode this one. Maybe it is 10BYS?

If so, here is my shot:

3 - Wixom build
5? line 5 (not heard of that one), maybe it's a 3, 3rd line
044 - 44th day of the year, February 13th (lucky?)
1 - first shift
3 - 2013?
17 - 17th engine built that day

I may not have it correct, others may chime in.

This is a new car and it's definitely a 5. I was able to snap a couple of pictures.

Here's what I see in the crystal ball...

BY5 = 2013 model year LS7
32 (I think your 5 is really a 2) = Wixom built on Line A2
044 = Feb. 13 build date
13 = Built on A2 during 2013 calendar year
17 = Build sequence # = 17th engine that day

Enjoy your fine ride! Floor it once for me!!
