Installed the HUD the other day. It took us allot longer than the 3/4 hrs advertised. I elected to pull the steering wheel and that was not too hard except for getting the wheel puller. They have it at auto zone but requires some grinding to get into the holes. Then finding all of the attachment screws and remembering where they go is crucial. Lastly, the two electrical connectors that is on the bottom of the steering wheel must come out or you'll break the plastic. Ask me how I know!!! Anyway it's done and although the hud numbers don't match the gauge cluster exactly. It's way better than not having one at all. Oh yeah if you have a convertible like me, you have to remove the back accent piece that covers that covers the top once down. If you don't you won't get the center council out.

im looking at am 08, that doesnt have the HUD, the dash has the piece where the HUD should be., It sounds like a pretty straight forward installation.acvuracy from the real out information?
it sounds like basically, it's installation of a factory HUD unit. Is this the case?

yep all oem parts , tap into a few wires according to the included instructions and plug in the harness. Getting the projector in place can be a challenge but it's not to bad
Hello, I have a 99 coupe with all the hud controls installed but no projector or trim. Is there a way to know if the projector has been covered with a non HUD dash board?
or a way to tell if it came originally without removing the dash for inspection?

I have no idea on a C5 as mine had HUD
The C5 with HUD dash had a plastic surround, the C5 without HUD did not have this opening,
The C6 with or without HUD was the same dash pad, it just had a block off plate that you remove and a new surround that you install to provide the finished look
The speedometer cluster in a C5 is easy to remove if you want to look but I am having a hard time believing that someone covered up the projector of a working HUD ... but who knows
