How iron block will lowered car ? 0.5" ?
Hi,
I'm putting Iron block (and some other parts under the good as FI complète kit, with F1X, secondary drive, alky system... and will keep a/c and battery)
I imagine car will be lowered, but, how much ?
Also, as the F1X seems to hit the hood, could i lowered 0.5" the craddle without technical issue (even during very high speed race as +220mph)

Burning Brakes
It lowered mine more than I thought it would. I don't have any before/after but it wasn't drive-able before I adjusted.
I went from factory aluminum cradle and factory aluminum block with complete A&A F1A kit, secondary drive, FMIC, alky kit, A/C and battery was already in the rear.
All that went away and now have the lighter Z06 cradle with Dart block, FMIC, custom upp style twin turbo kit (sits behind the front wheels and not hanging off the front of the engine like a blower - I thought this would help). And I put new GM ride height adjusters in it and turned them just about all the way down to raise the front end.

Le Mans Master
When I added a TVS2300 blower to my Grand Sport, it lowered the front end about 3/4". I don't remember exactly what that thing weighed, but I'd bet it was the better part of a hundred pounds. Blower, heat exchanger, water pump, and coolant all add up.

about a hundred lbs more between steel and aluminum block.
As for trans spring on the car, there are two different ones for FE1, FE2, and FE4, since A6 weights about 100lbs more, and if you have a manual in the car, then swap out to Auto trans spring of that type for the LSX block, If you have auto, then swap out from trans spring to next class up, but one for a manual trans. So base car (FE1} with lsx block, and A6 trans, then swap in a FE2 trans spring for manual trans car.
Or in most cases, can just use the ride height adjustment bolts on the front trans spring for say strip racing, to bring the front end back up to the needed height.
