Replacement shifter rod bushing?
The bushing at the back of my shifter box that the rod goes through is worn, so the rod can move a decent amount side to side. This one:
Is there some place I can buy a replacement, or any way to firm this up?

I have a lower shifter box (30,000 miles) from a 2004 Z06 that I believe fits the C6. Maybe someone from here can verify the two are equivalent.
If so, PM me and I will ship it to you.
Your other alternative is a new shifter assembly from GM or a MGW short throw shifter. ($300 - $400).
Or you can press the bronze bushing out and press in a new one. It is probably a standard size, available from McMaster Carr. The shipping would cost more than the part.

See also TMODCUSTOMS and Tick Performance. The new Tick setup looks very nice.

I think the boxes interchange from the C5 through the C7. They did update that bushing on the later ones.
I have owned a C5, C5Z, C6, C6Z, & a C7Z. I replaced every shifter with the MGW short throw shifter. This is why I have a few stock shifters sitting in boxes.

Easy to punch out the old bushing and just re-sleeve it wit a Delin bushing,
But since the problem is the upper shifter as well on why its so sloppy, just pick up a MGW shifter that will come with new lower box, and has factory replacement delin bushing if you do wear them out.

I went with TMOD and I'm happy with the improved shifter feel.

Another vote for Tmod. I like supporting the small guys too - watched him introduce and build his products here to solve a problem he saw and it seems that others are following.
