Default Brake Education needed

When looking for new rotors for my 2001 C5, the advertisements indicate C5/C6 are the same item.
1. are they the same thickness, offset and diameters?
2. is there a larger diameter rotor for say Z06? Z51?
3. Will C6 calipers bolt onto a C5?
4. Do larger rotors require different calipers?
5. What mix n match combos yield better braking performance?

Lost in America, point me the way!!!!

You would probably have much better luck asking this in the C5 section. I can answer all your question in regards to the C6, but I have no clue which brakes if any are interchangeable between the C6 and C5.

The short answer with regards to the C6 is base, Z51, GS and Z06 have different brakes.

1. C5 standard rear rotor are the same as C6 standard rear rotors, but the front are different.
2. C6 Z51 rotors are larger diameter and cross drilled. The calipers are different for the Z51 package as well.
4. As a general note larger calipers are required for larger rotors.
5. I would suggest a Performance brake package from powerstop if you're looking for a good balance of price and improved braking.

Default brake question

ALL C5 brakes are the same.
ALL base C6 rotors and pads are the same as the C5.
Stock C6 big brake calipers (GS and Z06) will bolt on to the front. You will no longer use the C5 brake bracket because the caliper now bolts direct. You will need the larger rotor and 18" wheels to clear the larger caliper.
But don't take my word for it. Check out KNS brakes. All they do is brakes and they are great to deal with.

C5 guys use C6 front calipers because they're less likely to spread
