Default DiabloSport 8245 - A6's NEED it!

The other day I finally bought a DiabloSport 8245 for my 2006. I loaded the 91 octane tune and set the fans to full power, and also loaded the "hard" shift tune, then turned the pressures up all the way (+20%).

Now the car shifts like a performance car should from the factory. The shifts aren't old-school "bang" into every gear, but you do feel them. The car hangs on to gears now at part throttle instead of doing the "Clara Peller (young guys, can Google her) is driving", so get into 4th by 20mph thing.
At about half throttle it will hang onto the lower gears till 4K+ rpm, so when you want to get moving, no more need to paddle shift.
Speaking of paddle shift, they finally RESPOND when you click them, instead of waiting a second to mush into the next gear.

The engine tune also seems to be noticeable, and you do need 91 octane for sure with it.

I'm not seeing any mileage difference, but the performance is certainly better overall.
I give this a 2 thumbs up rating and certainly a must-have item for anyone with an automatic slushbox.

I'm sure a custom tune from DiabLew would be even better but I'm going to drive on this for a while as I have other stuff going on.

Sounds like you are happy with the results

If you had an option to run the fan (stock is only 1 fan on the C6) at 100% you should keep an eye on the temps as this is a sure way to melt the fan connector due to the increased amp load of the fan. You might want to return this option to stock and monitor to see if running higher is really needed.

Good luck and enjoy your modified Vette...GD

I replaced my water pump and t-stat last week and it's been running warm ever since. The fan is set to come on at 217, that's why I set it to 100%. It used to run at 199 all the time, now it varies between 205 and 216. I don't like it to be that hot at just highway cruise, much less in-town.

I believe your 2006 draws air through both the front grill and underneath the front of the car. When was the last time you checked for obstructions in your radiator. There may be debris between the HVAC condenser and front of the radiator reducing the amount of airflow and resulting in higher temps.

Edit: just noticed you stated that temps are warmer since the install of a WP and T-stat (stock temp?). You may have some air trapped within the system when you drained & refilled. Look here for some C6 videos and tips to solve your cooling issue.

I have a Diablo 8245 and did the trans also. It does make a difference. I did the 93 octane tune on mine. It did what I wanted. Well worth the price.
