Default 8l90 in a c6

Has anyone done this swap yet? Wondering if it's feasible in a c6Z. I know that the hard parts will work, I'm not sure about the electronics

I don't know if the factory PCM can be programmed to understand the exta 2 gears. On top of that GM had problems with the 8 speed and I'm sure there much be a size difference?

So where as I can't verify if they got it working or not yet I can confirm a shop local to me is in the process of trying it. Cutaway Creations in Summit Point WV

You would think there is a large size difference, but there is not. The front mount is the same, the rear mount is the same, and the overall length of the transmission is the same. The 8L90 has a deeper pan, and the top of the 6L80 actually protrudes a bit more outward.

This is interesting. Update this post if you hear anything new about this. We don't get a lot of effort from the aftermarket companies on major mods like this for our "dead" C6 platform. Subscribed
