Default ls2 Soler Performance Throtle Body

Mike @ Soler Performance sent me his new LS2 throttle body and all I can say is wow, That thing drives flawless, its hard to believe the car pulls harder in 6th than it did in 4th with all the street manners of bone stock. I was almost as impressed with his throttle controller it takes all the nannies out of the factory electronic throttle control. If you did not know better you would swear there was a mechanical link between the go pedal and the throttle body. Together they complement each other.
I have a 06 C6 A/T 2.76 gears, long tube headers w/o cats, max ported intake and tune. It's always been a fun car, but after having done business with Mike @ Soler Performance it is an absolute hoot to drive. Anybody looking to put some fun in there LS2 give Mike a call, he can make you smile, John Skelton.

Thank you very much, Rocket. We are very glad you liked it.

This is our first test of the "Silver Blade" throttle body. For those of you who don't know, it will also fit the early LS3's. In summary, they fit the C6's 2005-2008 and it can be adapted to the C5's LS1/LS6 as well. If you'd like to make sure the p/n, is 12570790 (2005-2008 Silver/Aluminum Blade) and 12605109 (2009-2013 Gold/Brass Blade).

Gold Blades are in stock. Silver Blades we can rework your own one if you send it to us. They were both originally 90mm, now 95mm equivalent at WOT and with a great ramp-up rate right off idle.

I'm currently doing a cam/intake swap on my 05 LS2. I'm interested in the TB upgrade options.

Thanks for your interest, racer. We are currently working on setting our webstore for the LS2 TB's. We are going to offer the following options:

Outright purchases of refurbished parts with a one-year warranty for $525, these will look and work like new, they'll have a new sensor and electric motor.
Core exchanges $275 + Refundable $250 Deposit. 30-day warranty.
Rework your own one $275, 30-day warranty.

The price and deposit amount might seem a little high as compared to the LS3, but these LS2 TB cores are really expensive even used ones, they are also hard to find. Reworking them is also more difficult than any other of the TB's we modify. That's why.

Mike, I have an 06 LS2 with cam headers and ported intake. I plan to send you mine as a core. Is this plug and play or do I need tune.
Also, what is the turn around time.
It's a 6 speed

Thanks, Reggie. It is plug and play. We ship the same day for outright purchases or core exchanges, this option we'll be put in place once we have built plenty of stock. If sending your own one to be reworked (not exchanged) we can turn it around the next day, sometimes even the same day is received. This last option is the only one we can do at this time until we can acquire some cores, which are really hard to find.

Do you have a throttle body for a PD supercharger?

Usually, aftermarket supercharger (SC) manufacturers take into account the stock throttle body (TB) for the engine the SC will be going to and provide the SC with the hole pattern to fit stock TB. Other's will provide you with a choice of SC snouts to fit different TB's, including the stock TB.

Anyway, what SC are you referring to?

If you are already using that SC; what TB are you running with it?

What's your engine?

Thanks,

Any plans of adding the LS9 throttle body to the line up? They were also installed on 2009 and up trucks. Hitachi made them for Chevrolet. They are 87mm. I have both a LS2 silver blade and a LS9 I'd like to have modified and returned to me.

Hitachi- ETB 0025
AC Delco- 217-3151
GM- 12601387, 12629992, 19259452

Thanks, Ken. That is our next project (LS9/LSA), parts will be out in about 3-4 weeks. Right now we are evaluating the Hitachi, Dorman, Techsmart, and Delco versions of them.

Okay, I think your setup would benefit much more from this Mod, going from 90mm to 95mm is a must at the power level or amount of air your engine is drawing. This would be a straight swap, no adapter or tune needed. Thanks.

I just completed the install of the test TB for the 05-08 engines that Mike sent to me. I haven't road tested it yet, but my initial reaction is "HELL YES!!" I can already tell I have an improved throttle response just from revving the engine in the driveway. I'll be doing more extensive testing this weekend, and will post back once I've put some miles on the car. No fault codes were thrown, and engine stats all show within norms at this point. I do want to add that just with my initial dealings with Mike, Soler Engineering has top notch customer service, and really cares about the Corvette community it serves. I'll post back more once I complete this weekend's 600+ mile testing. If it turns out to run the same way the driveway test did I would highly, highly recommend this mod, but I'll reserve judgement until after I've put some miles on it.

Sending mine out tomorrow for Mike to work his magic on. I'll post a review once i get it back. Its the last choking point on my intake side. It should compliment the ported FAST 102 well.

Thanks, Everyone.

I just wanted to add that if you have a 102 manifold and you let us know when you order, we'll increase and taper the outlet bore of the TB (this is complimentary/included in price) to transition and perfectly match your Manifold snout. This would eliminate small pressure drops in the TB to manifold transition.

I installed the Soler ported TB on my LS2 today. I wasn't actually expecting a lot of change from the stock unit. Thought it couldn't hurt anything and would be the last thing to modify on the intake side of things. I was very impressed with the hit of the throttle change. I've got my tune really dialed in so it was already very responsive. 3rd gear seems to pull much harder also. I logged the first drive with the modified tb and everything is still spot on. I didn't make any changes to the tune. Should throw in that Mikes service is top notch too!!
