Default Exhaust recommendations

New C6 owner (prior C4). I'm sure this subject has been beat to death. Wife says the car is not loud enough.

It's an 07 with Z51. I like the idea of the NPP that I can control.

What are your recommendations?

Thanks.

Borla exhausts are very popular to retain the factory NPP. We also have the Billy Boats as well.

Feel free to text us for information and pricing!

If the cosmetic look of tips is a priority I would skip Borla. Corsa Sport is much better than stock or Xtreme and Billy Boat are the most popular.

NPP mufflers from a 2008 is a direct bolt on, you will need to run a vacuum source though. This is my 2006, since the video I've added Kooks LTs w/HF Cats.

Never heard of them so I had to google to find out. Still didn’t find much other than a YouTube clip on a mustang. Kind of like big foot.

My advice would be to go to a corvette get together and go for a ride with different systems on them. It is a very personal preference decision to make.

Auto vs. Manual is also a factor. (A small amount of drone can be easily dealt with in a manual by selecting a different gear.)

There really is only two brands to choose from if you want sound and no drone and no need for NPP.

Borla and Corsa

I have tried many exhaust systems and these are the only loud systems that do not drone. (That is with shorty or factory manifolds, I live in Cali and could not be bothered with removing headers every two years to smog a car.) But again, this is my opinion, yours may be totally different.

Wait for this craziness of Covid 19 to be over and get some seat time in some C6s to make a choice you know you will be happy with. (These systems are not really cheap.)

Good Luck with your choice!

Thanks for the info guys. Gotta love this forum.

Question: are LS2 and LS3 exhaust systems identical?

I like Borla, million mile warranty lol, plus I think they sound meaner than Corsa's I've heard, but both sound pretty good.

I love the sound of Ford V8s. Corvettes should sound as good.

Hard to sound as good when they already sound better.

If you don't plan to do long tube headers then I would go with billy boat bullets...they sound the best IMO.

For a setup with long tube headers your best options with be corsa, borla, factory NPP (not z06 bi-mode).

Good Luck.

As far as Ford Mustang V8's, they certainly have a distinctive sound, diff than LS cars, I believe it has to do with the engine config and firing order..

LS cars 'wake up' after an xpipe, which none of them have stock!
