Drivetrain Noise Clunking? Looseness? Have Video Of Noise
I have searched over 2 hrs and read numerous threads on this " clunking". I see solutions as being axle nuts loose, suspension pieces loose, and rear end fluid. With my description in video will one of these address the problem here?
It doesn't matter if shifting gears or not. Anytime I.go.from no throttle to throttle I will.get the clunk. Turning has nothing to do.with my issue (I've seen that mentioned in other threads).
Im.goimg to my mechanic Wednesday and want to have some good info.to.share with him.
So what do you think.

I have a similar noise and have had it for a few years now. I always assumed it was the driveline couplers. Planned to replace when the clutch needs replacing.

Been doing some more research on these couplers and found this.

It's definitely something to consider if your car is one of those having these issues.

I appreciate you chiming in. As I continue to read it seems that a group of things could provide the solution. I will start with the cheapest and easiest and work my way thru till its fixed.

So since its turned cooler here in Georgia and even cold some mornings 30s. I have noticed over the past week I have no slopineses when changing gears or off/on the throttle like in the video.
What would be affected by temperature in the driveline whereas its tight when cold and sloppy when warm? The sloppiness does come back when the car gets warm maybe driving 30 minutes or so.

My car is currently at my mechanic getting new shocks, axle nuts, and rear differential fluid. Hoping for good news afterwards. I'll post when I get car back which should be in 2-3 days.

Got car back today. All I can say is wow! The new shocks made the car drive 1000 times better.
As far as the clunking goes. Either the rear end fluid change or axle nuts change made the shifts 90% better. If I really try I can make the car clunk with off/on the throttle.
Before the car went into the shop the 1st-4th shift would 100% of the time clunk when changing gears. It doesn't do that now. But if I am going say 50mph off/on throttle I get a faint clunk. So I think those driveshaft couplers will need replacing eventually. But for now all is good.

Sounds like you are back to normal to me. I can hear the same very faint noise if I do the same to around 50 MPH. I think it is normal ring and pinion sound when you quickly let off and get back on the throttle.
