Default Best shock/struts for lowered daily driver

Hey yall.

i have an 06 z51 and id like to make it ride better!! The previous owner used it for HPDE so he installed MTI Bilstein coilovers (which will be for sale) and several other suspension mods. Luckily, he gave me the factory leaf springs so i can reinstall those. Soooo this begs the question... what is going to be the best (within reason) shock/strut combination to achieve "good" ride quality while lowered on stock bolts? Also, are there any other simple modifications to be done while doing the swap that will improve the way the car rides?

ive always loved bilstein shocks/struts and im sure they would do just fine in this application also but im curious to see what else is out there. Thanks!!!

Not sure if your coilovers are adjustable, but I would start there by softening them up. If they aren't, or that still doesn't provide the comfort you're after, I would look into swapping out your springs for a lighter spring rate...but retain the coil overs.

If you still want to go back to the OE leafs...I would recommend Bilstein B8 shocks.

Thanks for the info. I think ive decided just to go back to a traditional setup with good shocks and struts. Might be the wrong idea but i almost feel like i wont get a good ride with the coilovers. Maybe im wrong!

Are the coils too stiff for the street?

Fairly standard for the front, but too much for the rear if thats the case. Usually see 700/600 F&R, but 650/550 is another viable setup for a street car.
