The PB1117SS is $223 and this -N model is only $90??? One guess where the cheap one is made ...

My 2007 C6 LS2 is going to need an HB, and for what this part does and the trouble it takes to replace it, there is NO WAY I'm going for the cheap one.

OP .....

Did pulling the OnStar fuse solve your 'battery going dead' problem ?

My son in law is going to do it tonight. I was wondering if it could possibly be 7 BATT 30 amp fuse for seat memory etc. sometimes my seat memory won’t work. Sometimes if I move the seat a little it will work or I may have to reset it. So if either of these 2 are the problem with the fuse out it won’t cause the draw on the battery ? Also replacing the harmonic balancer how many belts need to be replaced ? Ty

The 7 BATT fuse protects more than just one system (besides the seat memory) .... Pulling that fuse will cause more than just the seat memory not to work.

If you either do a Google search, or just go out to the car and look ... you will see that there are only 2 belts ... I would replace both of them.

Why don't you post a video of the HB wobbling during idle and post it here, so we can see how much it's actually wobbling.

The deal is ... we can't really tell you for sure how bad your HB is by you just describing the problem over the internet. It might be time you you to have a pro actually look at it.

BTW ... If your balancer actually needs to be replaced, who are you going to get to do the job?

Did you take a look at the replacement instructions I posted here? ... Are you up to that job yourself?

My son in law started pulling fuses. When he got to the 10amp steering column lock control module in the BCM it was drawing 3.5 amps. When he pulled the fuse it went down to .6 amps. What part needs to be replaced ? That module “steering column lock control module” ? Thanks

Default Battery dying

i found the problem. It was the steering column lock module. Before the fuse was pulled it was drawing 3.5 amps and the car was dead everyday. Pulled the fuse drawing .6 amps now and car starts all the time. I ordered the module part #15915003. Thank you.

You may have found "A" problem, but assuming you let all the computers shut down for your test, .6 amps is way to high a draw. Typical draw on our cars with all computers quiet is about .025 amps (25 milliamps). Normal range being 0 to .035. Reconnect your amp meter and let the car sit for at least 15 minutes before taking a reading. Also make sure if you have a hood light that you remove the bulb for the test.
