Default DIY CAI for C6 Non-GS Model?

Hi,

I have been reading through a couple threads, referencing this one specifically,

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ke-shroud.html

Is this possible for the C6 Non-GS? Is there any way to possibly design a DIY piece that would work to draw cold air into the intake?

Looking for track use, not necessarily daily.

Brett

I don't think the one in your link will help with the "base" C6.

This thread may give you some DIY ideas though... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rbox-save.html

I have been throwing around the idea of modifying the Halltech beehive to fit over the stock air intake and then cutting the bottom outside edges out of the radiator shroud. In theory, the only difference between that and the Halltech MF103 would be the MAF sensor is outside of the area trapped by the beehive on the MF103. Technically it wouldn't be totally free, but it would only cost $100 for the beehive.

Below is what I'm thinking, but leave in the middle section they show cutting and the whole supercharger thing for now...

Hmm. Seems like the way in which the C6 base was designed, it does not lend the option to create a true CAI, and i'm not about to purchase the vavaram and have to worry about hydrolock

I bought 2 of these:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-f1330/overview/ They flow 600cfm each. Remove the left and right air boxes and install. 05-07 base C6.
Not a true CAI, I'm still trying to figure out shrouding.
