I should have overrode him, he is all about power and the "sound" is of no consequence. It'll be OK, it is more of a blower cam and blower cams don't have much lope per say. I will live with it,
Mike knows what he's talking about. I had to spend a lot of time Tuninng it myself to make it run great around town. Since I drag race a lot I knew the extra cam would help. If you are going with a blower mike did not steer you wrong.

I must be getting old as I think it sounds nice and stealth. A 500hp car that idles like that is pretty awesome. So do you like its street manners? Does it pull pretty hard past 3500 to redline? What is your redline now, around 6800?

When the idle is at 800 is is stealth but the crisp throttle response is amazing I must say, zero lag, instant power, I am loading a revving video right now, should be up on youtube in the next 20 minutes or so.

On the street is just like stock, taking off in 2nd gear, no problem

The pull starts at 4k and keeps going to 6500, it carrys you away for sure,

As far as a stealthy cam, this could certainly be described like that

My tuner said that they turned everything off and the card could not set a code if it wanted too. Who does that ? And some of the O2 features were turned off too.

I had my car dyno tuned by Brian, he's on this forum, at West Bend. It was nice as I got to talk to him and we discussed what he was doing. We were there about 2 hours but I ended up getting 23hp/17tq from it along with turning the nannies off. Like I said earlier from my L98 experience I wouldn't waste my $$ on a mail order again and will buy HP Tuners when the time comes on my next car which will probably be next spring.

Your results are very close to mine! Just have headers, x pipe and throttle body (along with the cam).

Mine made 430whp/396, and the cam specs are 231/242, .615 .617 with 112 LSA. The car runs very well, pulls HARD all the way to 7k. Got a decently choppy idle, and just a little bit of cam surge from 1000-1500 rpm.

With tuning in pretty good shape, you can try lowering the idle to from 700 rpm to 650 rpm and see if a little more lope will be present.

I guess I tuned the idle too well :-) We can drop it back down to 650 as it chopped decent there or I can make a few changes to it now to make it better (or worse depending on how you look at it).

No matter what, nice power for the combo and as always nice to work for you Larry.

Hey there Mike! Always great to see you posting and making horsepower.

Do you ever work with my buddy Norm, (Stanger383) who's in your home town?

Wait, I think Mike recommended a smaller cam but I went bigger against his recommendation...lol I still have the AFR 205 heads he installed on a friend's car back in 2002, still going strong.
Gonna grab some cutouts to install this winter

Cutouts and a 650 idle will make it cackle :-)

I still talk to Norm and we send work each others way. Got to get over to his place and sort out some drive ability once hes ready.

I don't want potentially fouled plugs and fuel smell by running the 650 idle, I will use the cam until I decide if I will go with FI or not.
