Default Automatic unlock from inside...

My 2013 GS now requires me to press the 'Unlock' button before I can open the door from inside. I used to be able to just press the door button to get out.

I tried going into the 'settings' menu and I think I tried all the possible options.

If this is posted elsewhere I didn't see it -- please help.

Mine is manual and if I park and pull the handbrake, but leave it running the doors are locked, until i unlock it or shut it down.

I've seen the setting for it as well.

The 'Auto Unlock' option is set to 'Both'. Still under warranty.

Easy fix or take it in?

there should be a setting for your Fob and proximity settings so as you approach the car either the driver door or both open.

And then another set of settings for auto lock in drive/park i would imagine.

I'm wondering if you're perhaps mixing the 2

I just verified and 'Passive Door Unlock' = BOTH and 'Auto Unlock'=BOTH. Still have to press Unlock to get out.

I think this started happening after I took my car in to have the climate control panel replaced.

Default Update

I took the car to the dealer this morning.

Its going to need a new shift assembly. The car is not detecting when it goes into park.

They said the car is dangerous to drive and requested to keep it till the part comes in. Its on back-order and they will advise me on Thursday (might take up to 2 weeks).

If I don't get the car back by Thursday, what kind of free rental do you think they will let me get?

Likely a Renault.

Thats about all we get here in California -- nice but no rain. Almost year round bike weather.

Kind of ironic -- the Corvette with a malfunctioning shift sensor is 'dangerous' according to the dealer so apparently I'm safer on the VMax.

Finally got the car back today after 11 days at the dealer. Took longer than anticipated for the shift column to arrive.

So if this happens again I'll do as you suggest and just tie the pawl and be done with it -- don't want another 11 days with a Chevy Tahoe rental.
