2006 c6 z51 exhaust advice
Aside from watching youtube and internet soundclips, what is the loudest/raspiest sounding exhaust for these cars. I am currently leaning towards the b&b bullet system. Any advice or opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I went with Corsa Sport exhaust on my 07 Z51 and it sounds great. Quiet like stock until 3k rpm, then it's beautiful music throughout the rest of the rev band. A little bit of drone at around 2k rpm in 6th gear, but otherwise completely drone-free at highway speed.
I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood and sometimes go out late/leave early so that's the loudest I'm willing to go anyway, but I just like the sound of the Corsa Sport to begin with.
Headers give a lot more volume if that's what you're looking for. I've heard a C6 with Kooks headers and Magnaflow exhaust and it was LOUD.

I have kooks longtubes, kooks o/r x, and corsa sport cat back. Its got a great rumble at idle and it kinda tame until 3k or so like someone else said but stab of into it and it gets raspy and loud and to me it sounds freakin awesome. And cruising at hwy speeds 1800-2000 rpm theres little to no drone at all.

I have the Billy Boat Bullet system with full length headers. It's OK but I'd like it louder as I've heard on other C6's-never in a position to ask what they had though. I think I'd also eliminate the crossover-makes the car sound too European.

I had a dual bullet exhaust by mbrp with fast102/longtubes and catted x setup. Since they were twin straight through bullet mufflers I'd imagine they were very similar to any other dual bullet design in sound. It was loud, deeper tone and droned on the highway but little to no rasp. I put a corsa sport on that setup and it had more rasp, higher pitched and a lot louder in the higher rpms and WOT. no drone.
I now have AI ported heads/spinmonster cam and the tone got deeper and louder still. Wide open the car is stupid loud, but in a good way.
To sum up, the bullet axlebaxk was louder at idle and low rpms. From about 3k to redline, the Corsa sport is significantly louder, especially at WOT where it's REALLY loud.

I appreciate all the info. Still gonna do a little more researching. Not really wanting to go through a bunch of different exhaust systems and blow a bunch of extra money. I am stuck between corsa and the b&b bullets still. I do however think corsa may have a raspier tone. Again thanks for all the help.

I had the SLP LM2 on my cammed C5 Z06 I now have Corsa extreme, both are about the same level of loudness but I prefer the tone of the corsa, & it doesnt resonate as bad as the SLP.
Not sure what your setup is but if you just want loud you could consider a custom system with some dynomax bullet mufflers or similar.

There are stereo systems which use an external microphone to adjust the volume up and down to compensate for wind, road and engine noise. Some motorcycles have them as well as some Vettes. Get one of those with a 2500 watt amp. Mount 2 - 18" subs somewhere and put the microphone outside. Pick a 10- 20 hertz note (Deep bass) which will play through the subs when the microphone picks up the added noise of acceleration. The systems volume will increase with acceleration and enhance the exhaust even more.
You want loud. We got loud
