Default 2013 427 Convertible Vs. Camaro SS

So my cousin has a 2012 Camaro SS (V8 not V6) with headers, X-pipe, Borla Mufflers, medium cam, no cats, and air intake. He claims it dynoed at 550. His is also a stick, and he is not the greatest driver. I have a bone stock 427 60th Anniversary, so its a manual. I consider my self a very good stick driver, I drove indy cars as a kid, and other drove a Sprint cup car at one time. He has been braggin' alot about how fast his car is and I would like to put him in line. I have the 2 tone exhaust option (NPP) and I pulled the fuse so that its always open adding about 10 HP to 505 stock. Should I open my mouth or keep it closed till I have similar work done? Thanks.
P.S. I know that in the curves I will destroy him but in a drag race, what do u think?

I think you should be able to take him still. I also think 550hp is a bit on the high side given his mods. A cam really does wake up the LS3 motor but I don't think that much. Also remember you have a huge weight advantage. Race him and see how it goes. I bet you win but he will give you a run for your money 0-60, assuming he can launch. After 60 you will start pulling

Agree with above. The HP numbers sounds fishy.

There is no way with the mods listed it made 550 RWHP. I would guess it is more around the 450-490 RWHP. The avg RWHP for a z06 is 450 RWHP. You will have more torgue and weigh less. I say practice a little on the launch and you will win. The most important thing is to have fun in a little competition.

No 550Hp at the crank. 500HP at the wheels. I should have gave a better descriptioin.

Camaros are pushing 3900 pounds. 700 pound difference equates to 70hp he's giving up. If his car dynoed at 550rwhp, that dyno would make yours 700. No way he got that increase with his mods. Not even a close match, imo.

If he does have 500 rwhp with a Camaro curb weight, and that's with a big cam.
Both cars will have about 6.6 lbs/hp.
And......it comes down to the driver, gearing, tires and skills.
Looks like it could be a close race.

If he's 500rwhp, which is believable, it should be a good race.

Most ls3 corvettes w/ headers, CAI, and a tune can run w/ some zo6's. Add a cam to that and its really taking a lot of the weight out of the equation.

Either way good luck and kick his ***
