Default Differential Swap ?

Fellas will the 3.42 rear end bolt into a a6 base coupe without any issues?

As long as the tiff is from a base from 06 and up and your car is an 06 and up.

Default Gears

Cool, I wasn't sure if there was a difference between the auto and manual differentials. I have an 08, A6 that currently has the 2.56 gear set.

Your gas mileage will really suck when you do that. I went from 3:42 to 3:73 and the mileage impact was huge.

There is a difference - a differential out of a regular C6 with a manual transmission will not bolt up to an A6 transmission, however one from a C6 Z06 will.

Isn't 3.42 a little steep for the a6?

I was considering doing 3.73 gears in my 2013 grand sport manual trans.
Will my gas mileage suffer too ?

^ freeway yes. In town...maybe not, usually end up in higher gear so better gas mileage.

My highway mileage went down enough that I noticed, but the car has more pep!
