Tire temperature gauge/probe
What are some recommendations for obtaining temperature reading's of the tires?
Not looking to break the bank here. No track use just street and for interest of knowing.
Entry level recommendations, I will probably use to set up tire pressure and be done.
I have searched but still would like the members recommendations.
Thanks for any guidance.

You can use a IR gun for sure to get surface temps but to actually get the temp of the rubber you have to have a probe.

IR is nice because you don't have to touch anything, and it will quickly give you a reference across the tread area. Meaning, I can see if the inside edge is hotter than the middle or outside edge, etc.
I'm really not interested so much in really accurate temps as I am in variation of temp across the tire, and temp variations between tires.
I also use it to look at the brake rotor temps too. As well as different parts of engine temps, my inside of console temps, how hot the lady is at the track (haha), etc.

Amazon has lots of IR thermometers...Fluke is best but most expensive. A good one can be had for around $50. Mine is made by Mastercool and is very handy.
Actually, I just looked and they have some down in the $15 range...wow.
