your call on the rear extensions as you will probably have them disabled anyway. I went with extensions. and I wrapped them with dei heat tape and zip tied them away from the headers and x-pipe. I am going to jack her up this weekend and inspect the wires to see if everything's holding up. man...it sure sounds sweet. my system (slp full catless exhaust w/lm2) has drone but its like heaven to me. sounds great at idle, mean at part throttle and pissed at wot.
Most likely going to do a cai, cam, headers, xpipe, tune-and done.

yep..plug the holes and no drivability issues but you will get a cel. just don't go beating on it at wot until you get a tune. I must admit though...with the sound and torque that you will get from installing those long tubes it will be tempting.

You just get a check engine light for secondary O2 sensors (the ones that measure whether the cats are in working order)
All you have to do is disable the check engine light for any issues regarding secondary o2 sensors - It requires a programmer or a laptop hookup and takes all of 5 min; while this is technically changing the "tune" you dont actually have to have the car "tuned" as in sitting on a dyno with hours of work... Its just checking some boxes on a spreadsheet and being done with it.
If you do decide to get a full tune done, Ed Hutchings is local (Chesapeake) and is one of the best in the country: forum member edcmat-l1 website:http://www.hitechtuning.com/

Yea , he did the tune on my c5z, I/h/E and cam. Ran like a champ and never had a CEL again. Headers installed. As soon as I started it up, SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM. Gonna post a new thread.

I know, but OBX does not fit anything over 09 , still unclear what would need to be done to make it fit, all I am told is x pipe to tail pipe needs to be made to fit but is it a alignment issue or just cut and weld.

Beginning with the 2009, the geometry where the mid-pipe connects to the over-the-axle pipe was changed. A mid-pipe for a 2008 LS3 won't work with a 2009 and vice-versa. The OBX headers I see on the big auction site all say 2005-2008 or 2005-2009 fit. The 2005-2009 fit is b.s because of the geometry change but a muffler shop can remedy this if you buy a set of headers w/mid-pipe built for a 2008.
What youd do is make an x pipe using the one provided by obx for the front half and the factory one for the rear half (not really half but some place after the x prior to the pipe bending outward, youd want to adapt to the factory setup). This is a very common task for those converting z06 exhausts to the base/gs setups; relatively quick and easy.
Good luck!

Well, my obx system is installed and fits great with zero issues, but now, my car won't start. Think I screwed something up in the charging system when I reinstalled the statue and crossed wires.

He is the one who said they will not fit.
Z ,I would check to see if any wires near the starter are off or loose you had to do something to the wiring during the install..

Started right up, then "Service charging system error"
Then service traction control
Somehow I made it to the base, and it died. Starter won't even crank over anymore.
Originally, it was the alternator not being connected that killed the battery while car was running.
Replaced the bad battery, checked starter at autozone, tests good. I could check the alternator, but that shouldn't matter because the brand new(tested good) battery should crank the starter.
Just weird how it started yesterday, and now nothing with a good starter and battery.
Something is blocking the ignition from telling the starter to kick over.
I purposely jumped the constant battery wire to the bottom terminal on the starter and the motor free spins(gear doesn't engage).
The problem has to be between the ignition button, and the plug/wire that goes into the starter.

I just had to sell my OBX, I'm a little too strapped for cash to get them installed and tuned this summer. I'm super bummed. The welds look really good and the finish is great. I'll buy another set once I get caught up with those damn bills!
