Default Help!!!! Weld rts fitment

I've been trying to buy a set of weld rts s71 wheels 18×9 front ant 17x12 rears for my car but all the dealers I've talked to are not being helpful at all. I have a 05 z51 with z06 quarter panels. Weld personally said they wouldn't sell me the wheels because they wont fit and would hit the quarters. I know that is not true but i dont know the backspacing I would need. Any help would be greatly appreciated especially from a vendor! Thanks!

If Weld tells you they don't fit, then don't buy them. They know what they are doing. I run 17 x11 Welds and they fit properly.

The reasoning is the rim barrel at the lip will hit the a frame on anything wider then 11" I have 11.5 CCW and they hit when on the jack and wheels suspension hanging.

I have 20x12 wheels on the rear now though and they clear fine. I do t see how my car would be any different than a z06 offset unless my rotor hat thickness is different. That's why im asking here....

You need Z06 fitment. I just don't know if Weld makes a 12 inch for that. I guess if they say they don't.... then they don't. Just use the 17 x 11 .. they are perfect.

of-course it does you have a 2" bigger opening with a 20" to clear the A frame, brake rotors are not the problem, now try that with an 18" or 17" 16" then the rotor could cause a problem, they will stick it out further past the fender then that could hit and crack the fender, the OP did specify 17"x12" I didn't see he had the wide body so it might fit with 12" wide

Default Weld Wheel

I do not think the frame is the issue I think it is the control arm the spindle is pretty tall.

Weld told me that I had to run a spacer because I have a z51 and that with a spacer the wheel would hit the quarters. Which is crap as long as I get the correct backspacing

It seems you are being a bit stubborn on this. If you look at the Weld application chart you will see that 17x11 is the widest they make that fits properly. You need the high pad 17x11 for the Z06. That is what you see on my car in the picture.
High 17x11.0 Rear only 43 7.70 71HB7110B77A*

The application chart is here....

For a Z51 front wheels... it looks like the widest they make is 18 x 8. I am running 18 x 7 myself because that was my preference. They fit perfectly over Z51 brakes, with a 5mm spacer..

I dont know about the wide body, but on mine the rim touched the a frame, I seen the marks on the rim and the a frame, because it goes in so far and when it hangs from jacking it touches but when on the ground it has enough clearance, I haven't seen any fresh marks.
You can see it couldn't stick out any further with out a chance of hitting the rear fender when hitting a bump or hard launch the rim is a CCW18X11.5 with MT 305x35x18 it's a Z51.
