Default LS3 build to handle 750+ whp

Have a stock LS3 and need to know what I need to make it safely handle 750+whp. 10-12psi Vortech Si/meth/cam. ARP head bolts? Connecting rods?

a great tune ...is it a auto or manual? IF you want it to SAFELY handle it do rods and pistons lol..

But just to ls9 headgaskets and make sure tune is safe(rich a/f)

whats your setup now?

It's a manual. Tr6060.
Set up now is Vortec blower on ~8psi stock manifolds no cats making ~580whp

My biggest concern would be the pistons. Stock ones are junk

I agree that forged pistons would be desirable at that boost level. ARP rod bolts and good quality forged connecting rods would also be a good addition. ARP head studs would not hurt, but probably not absolutely necessary at that level. You may also want to post this in FI for additional comments

typically at that power level people usually have built short-blocks. We have 418 strokers usually in stock, or can custom built a short-block for you. We can also take your core LS3 on exchange.

I'm thinking about just keeping the pulley on and not going to 10+psi.. I'll go into the internals later. I'm thinking in the 680 range with 8psi? still running meth though

$20K when you are done. You will also need a better clutch, stronger diff, better cooling and brakes so that you can stop all that horsepower.

That blower won't get you there so besides upgrading to better rods and pistons you will need a better blower. A good clutch is always a good idea also. With that being said I'm at 770rwhp on the stock bottom end for now. It will either live until I build it or blow and I'm prepared for either. Come to the forced induction section for more info.

This was interesting to read as i'm hoping to get ~650rwhp and i think that will be enough for me, currently at around 561rwhp. have the TVS 2300 at around 8 psi i think, AR long tubes high flow cats, akrapovic exhaust, all piping out is 3" now vice 2.5", quartermaster 10.4 optimum SR twin disc clutch.

i'm thinking cam, possibly forged pistons as well plus tune and i think that should put me in that neighborhood?

Don't fool your self. Getting the power is only 50% of the story. It is all the parts that you will need to get to use that power.

We offer 2 rotating assemblies for our pro series. 11 to 1 and 9.7 to 1. These assemblies are good up to 1000 Fwhp. PM me or give us a call for pricing.

Needs to be built and tuned right first of all

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...-with-f1a.html

Depends on how long you want it to last as this can start to take it's toll on the bearings as the stock pieces can and will start to flex and distort. Also depends on when you want to turn up the boost, but 10-12 psi would be just fine on the stock setup as long as it was built right and tuned correctly.

I guess it wouldn't stop me from putting the blower on the car now and building it once it needs a refresh unless it needs one now.

Like everyone else said, it is going to be the total combo to reach those kinds of goals.

If you plan on pounding on the setup going forged is the best way along with a great tune, detonation is the issue for our setups under boost

I ended up keeping it at 8psi and adding headers and blower cam, take it easy on the driveline until I can save for that. Worry about building the motor later or swapping it for something bigger/stronger.

Nothing but a good tune and setup IMO. I wouldn't touch the bottom end unless an issue pops up. Then just do pistons/rods or whatever you want.

Our pro series engines will handle 1000 HP. To achieve the numbers that you are looking for you would need to do our stage 3 Head/cam header combo with our pro series engine, and your blower along with our tuning and you should have no issues hitting your 750 HP mark.

........there are lots of guys running 700+ rwhp on stock bottom ends without issues. The LS3 crank has 6 bolt mains and it's bullet proof. I would recommend upgrading the bolts to some high quality ARP's and swap out the connecting rods/pistons if you push it any further.

The tune will mean the difference between life or death......
