Difficult Starting
Ok forum members, I'm in need of some help. Yesterday morning and this morning my 06, C6 didn't want to start. It would spin over just fine, pop through the exhaust and never start. I tried several times and it just popped through the exhaust. I let it set for a couple minutes tried again, some thing. After it stopped turning over I pushed the throttle several times, thinking it might clear something out, tried it again and it started like normal. Drove it around town for several hours, starting it several times, car ran great no problems.
This morning, wouldn't start again on first try. On second try I hit the throttle a couple times and it started. No problems.
Now it has been very cold the last 2 mornings 15, 19, but car stays in my shop. Its still cold though.
Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad cam position sensor. If it pops back through the exhaust on the first cranking, turn the key off and try it again. If it fires right up it's the cam sensor.

The check engine light is on , but its been on since I put the headers on. Guess I need to get it scanned.

Tomorrow I'm taking mine to CARTEK...one of the "BEST" if not "THE BEST" Corvette shops in NJ...
Stay tuned to this thread & I'll report their findings... I wont have the results tomorrow because they just put in the new 403 ci motor, and it needs a few more miles on it before it goes on the dyno..
(as a side note) they built an exact duplicate) and it made 490 hp & 465 tq...)
I'll keep u posted as to what they find on my motor.. I'm assuming yours is stock, or does it have a cam, etc..
Mine is a 403 with everything forged (pistons, rods, etc)
They (Cartek) seem to think its the cam position sensor. As my car has a Melling oil pump, & an upgraded fuel pump, and 42 lb injectors..

Ok jpee I will. I'm going to try and get mine into a friend to run the codes this week, but I'm working nights right now so seeing what you find out may be very helpful.
And yes other than headers catted x pipe and Borla, CAI mine is stock.

I'll check in here tomorrow, but I KNOW the "Boss" will not have looked at my car until at least 5pm.. I will post here as soon as I find out ANYTHING...
