Default manifold nuts

So I bought exhaust manifold nuts GM nuts and they do not fit the stud, they do however fit the stud on the cats. should these bolts be the same size. I looked them up and the parts numbers are different but that does not always mean anything. Anyone else have this issue?

So you decided not to take your stuff to the local hardware store and buy the parts to fit your manifolds? Most of us that have done that mod, don't buy nuts at the dealer.

I didn't , I got them on ebay for $6, for all of them. Is everything with this F'n car a pain in the a$$ to do?

But I will be at the hardware store in the morning. So what's the answer to my question?

No pain for exhaust stuff. It's pretty simple. Take the manifolds with you and get the correct metric bolts and nuts. Don't get hung up on GM part numbers for nuts and bolts.

Go read my thread again. First post has the part number for the exhaust manifold studs and nuts from McMaster Carr. The threads are M10 x 1.5

You can lead a horse to water....

Yes I can drink just not your water lol.
I read it that is where I got the size, I just did not want to wait for a shipment from McMaster. Then I like to actually see in hand what I'm buying. I have always lived in a large city and here in Roanoke it is Beautiful but you don't have all the luxuries of the big city, I am finding that out. po dunk was not meant in a negative way. I will get there, when I get all the parts that I want

On another note the studs that are in the manifolds now look great they just do not fit the nut. Now in my ventures I went by a supply house where they have all the proper tools and it seems the these studs are indeed an M10x1.5 but a m10 nut will go on and we figure it must be because the studs are made from a cheap steel that has distorted due to the heat from the engine. My bet made in china lol. I can run an m10 bolt directly into the manifold with no problem. I have to admit I was a little baffled because chevy had two different part numbers for the nuts on the cat and the manifold being they are the same size. I was thinking it was a special thread. I've put up a lot of exhaust pipes in my life and this is the first time i'v had this type of issue.

I took my x pipe down to the guy who is going to do the finishing touches on the muffler connection and he told me where to get the correct parts. $7 and eight studs later all is good.
