Looks nice. Just curious if there were marks on the flywheel, floater and pressure plate for balancing alignment.

You will not find marks from balancing, they are produced to such close tolerances that they are not needed. Each piece is zero balanced.

I'd be curious to how these things would dynamically balance. Too bad no one in Houston can actually do it. Biggest street scene in America and yet it's not available... Irony.

What clutch is the Mantic replacing and why? Mantic sounds like a great clutch, and I'm wondering what drawbacks other clutches have.

Mantic is a branch of an enormous OEM clutch manufacturer, so they have a resources behind them that I have never seen in the aftermarket. This is what I contribute the consistency of each clutch too.

From what I've seen so far it looks like Mantic is in my future. About to deploy in a few, but plan to replace the clutch on mine due to the inconsistencies when abused at the track. The big question would it be single or dual. I want the job to be done once. I doubt my car will ever see more than 550rwhp though. I want to be able to slip it and not turn the rear end to pieces. I may upgrade the rear end too at the same time.

I'd recommend our new LT1-S street twin as it'll have factory engagement/pedal feel and longevity being it's the only twin that has a pressure plate that can compensate for the increased wear from double the friction points and can take a beating, don't hesitate if you have any questions about a Monster!

I really appreciate you offer, but I want a clutch kit that is/was engineered for racing purposes from the beginning. Like I said, I want a clutch kit to be able to withstand all the punishment I throw at it and never ever give me issues. I may not make a ton of power but when I go to the track I'll give them hell.
I just don't see how an oem clutch can be up to that.

The OEM stuff gets better and better all the time with longevity and abuse in mind possibly more than some of the "aftermarket" companies. Many of which just use stock pressure plates ie one is from a v6 Camaro. A clutch isn't as complicated as you might think being really just a combination of clamping force/coefficient of friction and I look for real world results as to what works, that is why I provided the links. I'm not sure what issues you are expecting, but we hot-lapped launching off the limiter without any issues as heat is generally the culprit many of times whether from intentional or unintentional slipping. Here's more of our products in action from other customers who frequent the track as it sounds like you do, so these aren't one time hero runs...

I would recommend the 9000 series twin, ceramettalic sprung hub. That is by far our best seller, good slip, good WOT separation, stock pedal feel, durability of a twin disc, and comes with the clutch/flywheel assembly, hardware, slave cylinder/throw out bearing, pilot bearing, clutch bleeder kit and shipping.
Plenty in stock, PM-email-or call if interested.

Got ~8k miles, tons of pulls, tons of high RPM shifting, etc at 1000+rwhp on my mantic 9000. Not a single issue. Replaced an ls9r that was nothing but issues at 700+rwhp.

No surprise really as the LS9R has been discontinued I believe, two of our LT1-R's took a flawless beating at TX2K...one in an 1100rwhp TT LS stang that is no light weight and hooks on 15" drag radials so the clutch is taking the full strain and the other a h/c C6Z with a 250 shot that's looking to go faster than his previous best of 8.81 in the 1/4
Here's a YSI C6Z at 15psi on pump +meth we just finished up with the LT1-SC, looking to see how deep in the 9s it'll go...

Made 940 SAE on our stingy dyno, with no break-in on the clutch which I don't recommend trying at home

I can say I've been very happy with my Mantic 9000, My car is on MT's and made 800ft lbs of torque on the nitrous setup with zero issues and drives beautifully. Big thumbs up! We are buying another one soon to put in my girlfriends LS7 car with a Whipple. She drove mine and din't notice any adverse pedal feel from her stock clutch!
