Is shell V-Power really the best?
I have searched the forums and online and tried to read up on the cleanest and best performing fuel to put in my 2009 C6. I currently fill up at Shell with V-Power and have been nothing but happy but I figured I would throw a feeler out there and see the community's opinons.

Not sure if it is or isn't but would love to hear someone "prove" it's the best if they feel it is.
I stick with QT since it's probably the "freshest" gas out there in the sense of being constantly supplied.

To keep the engine clean, you want a Top Tier fuel and Shell is on the list.
All Top Tier Premiums are probably close enough to each other, that you can consider them interchangeable.
I use Shell at home and Mobil in Florida, for the very slight benefit of alternating two different additive packages. But that's kinda over the top.

According to Wikipedia octane in Australia is measured as RON, while in the US it is (R+M)/2). There is a 4 to 5 point difference, so 98 in Australia is about 93 in the US.

I usually use Shell because the octane rating tends to be higher than other premiums sold where I live. Never had any problems with any premium brand that I have used.

I use Shell V power because the Chevron stations left the area.
Used the "100% pure gas" for a while, but now with a $.54 difference per gallon, didn't seem worth it.

the difference between top tier fuels is the additive package. the other trick it to go where there is a large volume of turn over so you don't end up with watery fuel & with rusty fuel deposits.
I have never heard of one being better that another. If you believe car magazines, they test cars with SHELL fuel though ? for as long as I can remember I try to only buy, Shell, Chevron & BP fuels for my cars, trucks & bikes.

As long as you're putting regular miles on your Vette and filling up every couple of months, 10% ethanol fuel shouldn't be a problem. If you're one of the Vette owners who only drives a few hundred miles a year where a tank might last you 4-6 months, I'd recommend using non-EtOH fuel or minimally, put some Stabil or other fuel additive in at every fill-up. Moisture is the main enemy of letting EtOH fuel sit in your tanks for months at a time.

I do use 100% pure gas is in my power equipment and Stabil when needed.
You are absolutely correct about moisture using E10 and letting it sit. Friend of mine left E10 in a car for a year or two. Talk about a bad smell! He had to drain the tank and refill with fresh fuel.
